If the trail wasn't rough, it wouldn't be interesting.
Whether you're exploring unnamed canyons in a remote corner of the Colorado plateau or summiting 14ers in the West Elks, the Oboz Men's Firebrand II Hiking Shoes will handle what lies ahead with a waterproof construction, aggressive sole, and cushioning midsole. The Firebrand II toes the line between beefy boot and lightweight hiking shoe, with an upper that sits low but is made with stout, wear-resistant nubuck leather and textile panels. A protective toe cap protects against scuffs and scrapes, while a waterproof insert shields against any rain or water your feet might encounter on the trail. The Firebrand II features Oboz's Sawtooth sole, which extends the lugs of the sole up around the sides of the shoe to offer additional traction when traversing side-sloping and deeply rutted trails. A nylon shank within the dual-density midsole increases stability when hiking between cairns across scree fields, and the BFit Deluxe insole offers a comfortable and supportive fit right out of the box.

Good Fit For Narrow Foot
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Have size 14+, narrow, long, low volume feet. 14's often too short though foot measures 14. Get good fit with this shoe in size 14. On my 3rd pair. Put a lot of mileage on shoes each year. Sharper edges of grip wear down after a while making them a bit more likely to slide since I am most often on steeper terrain. Soles wear down before uppers but that is after hundreds of miles, often on rough, steep, terrain, and in all kinds of weather. Seem pretty waterproof. Very sturdy shoe. Well made. They do tend to be slippery on wet, slick, or icy surfaces. Shoe laces well.
