Bridger Mid BDry Hiking Boot
Leather never goes out of style, but there's more to the Oboz Bridger Mid BDry Women's Hiking Boot than its classic look. Hiding behind the nubuck leather is a BDry waterproof and breathable membrane that makes the Bridger a confident bad-weather hiker, so you can conquer tough trails at altitude, in the lowlands, and everywhere in between without your feet becoming soggy or sweaty. Oboz didn't stop with weatherproofing, though; it also included a BFit deluxe insole and EVA midsole to stabilize your arch and protect it from rocks and built the Bridger with a TPU chassis and nylon shank for increased stability on sharp and uneven terrain. A molded rubber toe cap and heel counter increase durability, and the Granite Peak rubber sole is outfitted with beefy lugs for great traction, braking, and side hill stability.

Comfort from the start
I purchase these boots to replace my Merrell hiking boots of 15+ years. Finding the right replacement was not an easy task, but so far, these are living up to my expectations. Just like my Merrell’s, these have been extremely comfortable from the very first day. No break-in period was required and was able to wear them on a 4hrs hiking adventure and airplane just out of the box. They are well made, light, and have support in all the right places. My only complaint is that unlike my Merrell’s, they provide little to no insulation in cold weather (below 9 degrees F). Consequently, I had cold feet during my holiday trip to beautiful and cold Jackson Hole, WY. With that said, I would acknowledge they don’t claim to be insulated. My feet, however, did stay dry after playing in the snow for a few hours. As a personal preference, I purchased one size bigger than my standard street shoe size because I like to wear thick wool socks when hiking and enjoy the extra room when walking downhill.

Oboz women’s Bridges Bdry hiking boot
My first pair of hiking boots. I love these boots!! No break in time needed right out of the box trail ready. They are light, love how my heels fit no slipping, plus the bigger toe cap for plenty of room for my toes. Love they that they are waterproof and breathable. No blisters yet. I’ve had these a month averaging 5 to 10 miles per day.

W's Bridger vs W's Sawtooth
I feel I’ve been training for my entire career to give this boot review. Why? Because I’m been wearing the Oboz Sawtooth Mid for EIGHT years. Eight! I’m on my third pair of these wonderful shoes, and they are the sole reason I was interested in being an Oboz ambassador. Literally every boot I have ever tried fails in comparison to this model, so when I was asked to compare the Sawtooth to the lovely Bridger boot, I was ready for the challenge. Sawtooth W's Sawtooth Mid Sawtooth Mid First, why the Sawtooth? Well, for starters, you will absolutely have zero break in period. I’ve worn 4 other brands of boots, and every one has given me at least one blister or hot spot while breaking them in. Not the Sawtooth Mid. I love this boot because it is comfortable straight out of the box and is comfortable after ten hours in the woods. I even wear this boot to my office when I’m not in the field so I feel cool (plus they really are that comfy). Sawtooth Perks: I love this boot because my feet feel SECURE. The outsole shape feels very curled around the shape of my foot, and the side lugs greatly reduce the likelihood of rolling an ankle. I would call these boots sturdy and slightly thick without feeling bulky on the foot. They are indeed waterproof without sweating and are consistently reliable on all forms of terrain. If you are looking for a durable, all terrain boot, this pair will give you a lot of confidence on the trail. I have only purchased the iceberg style, but the new violet is also cute. I feel like this boot may get overlooked because of its style, but, for those that care, it goes with everything. Bridger Mid In comparison, when I first slipped on the Bridger Mid, I immediately noticed that the boot feels thinner. Not thin as in poor quality, but the sole itself feels more streamlined than the Sawtooth. The boot is a tad lighter than the Sawtooth because of this (1 oz lighter), in addition to the collar being a little thinner (and ever so slightly higher than the Sawtooth). I assumed that this would mean the boot is less cushy, but that’s not the case. The most noticeable difference for me was feeling like I had less product wrapped around my heel and insole, but this did not change the durability of the boot. This boot is COMFORTABLE, and I felt equally sure-footed in the Bridger as in the Sawtooth.Ritter Collective 231 Like with all Oboz, I have yet to have a blister. If I’m being honest, I was also super pumped to get these in Rio Red, because who doesn’t want bright red boots?! With a more traditional boot profile, some may prefer these on the style alone. Which One is “Right” How to choose between these boots? Fortunately, they perform very similarly, and I think the choice ultimately comes down to comfort. Those who prefer a less-stocky boot, with a slightly more flexible outsole, will appreciate the Bridger. Those who want a bit of bulk to cradle the heel, or who need a more durable outer fabric, will want the Sawtooth. Both are very comfortable and well suited to a variety of outdoor needs. If you blindfolded me and placed these boots on my foot, I may have a hard time telling them apart with the exception of the differences in the molded bottom, as both offer a lot of support and feel pretty similar when laced up. All things considered, I slightly prefer the Sawtooth given how many years I’ve been wearing this style. But, when I’m laced into the Bridger, I feel equally awesome, so you’ll have to try them both for yourself! Rest assured, however, that you’ll feel fantastic in either pair. - Imogene Cancellare

3 pairs in 8 years? That seems like a quick turnaround for shoes? Do they wear out quickly?

True to the trail at it's finest!

I think this boot is fine as long as you aren’t doing any long or rocky hiking. No problem on even and up/down terrain. However not enough ankle support when you need it on challenging hikes. This boot not only bruised the side of my ankles but caused an open blister on one. Halfway thru a tough hike, I used a knife to cut the sides of the tongue and take some of the padding out (where it was rubbing) just to make it thru. :) In addition and maybe one reason they did not work for me is that they only have one hook adjustment and it is at the very top of the ankle. Not only does does this make it difficult to tighten down or loosen up, it also makes it SO hard to get in and out of! Needless to say, these boots went back as soon as I could get to a UPS store.

Fantastic for my hiking adventures
I am an enthusiastic nature-walker and hiker. I might do a 6 mile trail slowly birding, or whip through an uphill / downhill trail in a few hours with my sister. These boots are fantastic: I really didn't have a breaking-in period, they offer ankle support, and they keep my feet warm but not tooooo warm (hot-foot sufferers, i am with you). I am also an ankle-roller and it has not happened once with these boots, even on very uneven terrain (back country hiking). They're nicely waterproof and, to me, fairly stylish. No issues as of yet with reliability, and in addition to wearing these on hikes and on job sites since November, I've just returned from a 10-day Yellowstone trip on which I wore them all day every day. I'd absolutely recommend these to anyone looking for a comfortable waterproof hiking boot with ankle support.

I had my left foot surgically rebuilt, then a few years later badly broke my left ankle. These are now the only shoes I can wear and they give me great support.

Very high quality boot
I haven't been able to take these out on the trail yet, but they have been great around town! They are stiff enough to provide lots of support but they are still extremely comfortable. And they also look great which is always a bonus!

Trail Crew Tested
I got these shoes halfway through my season doing trail work after my first boots fell apart from the constant wear and tear. I wore these boots for a 10hour work day, everyday for 4 months and I still wear them for shorter day hikes. To say I am super impressed by the durability of these boots would be an understatement. My work days consisted of 3+ miles of hiking and hauling rocks with weekends spent going on 12+ mile backpacking trips and these boots survived it all while keeping my feet comfortable and dry. They're incredibly lightweight and durable (seriously they were really put through the ringer). I would recommend sizing up a half size as I normally wear a 7 and got these in a 7.5 and they fit perfectly. I prefer hiking boots to be a little more roomy so on those days I need thicker socks, I have some wiggle room. I would definitely recommend these boots to anyone looking for something comfortable and very lightweight, these boots are for you.

I bought these shoes for my wife, because they're pretty similar to the one's she needs to replace. Much lighter than her old shoes.Nice heavy tread. Shoes fit to size. But the tongue is not as well padded, causing pain issues.Had to return.

Great lightweight hiking shoe
Bought for my wife, who had her foot surgically rebuilt a year and a half ago. She's understandably picky about the shoes she wears. From the moment she put these on, she's been excited to discover how comfortable, lightweight, and sturdy these hiking shoes have been.

Best Mid Hiking Boot I've Owned!
I used to be an avid lover of another outdoor footwear brand until I was introduced to Oboz. It changed my life! I bought The Bridger Mid for more ankle protection and support and they've performed amazingly. They are waterproof so my feet stay dry crossing shallow streams or getting caught in one of our afternoon mountain rain showers. I was worried about "breaking them in" before hiking, but had no problem with this at all. Straight out of the box they fit perfectly and have only improved with use. Highly recommend these!

I was wondering if anyone who owns the red pair, can tell me whether or not the red dye will bleed/run when the boot gets wet. I had read somewhere that this will happen but wanted to confirm. Thanks!
