I purchased this item with the intent to use skiing this winter. I have not used it for that purpose yet but will comment on the construction of the jacket and my first impressions. The jacket appears to be fully waterproof based on the materials and can be secured on the inside at the bottom to prevent snow from creeping in. The hood can be adjusted and tightened or also removed if you are looking to shed off a layer. The hood is fairly large and in my opinion best suited only if you are wearing a ski helmet. This jacket runs large! Check the sizing instructions, a large runs larger than most traditional larges as do the other sizes. The jacket has insulation built in to help keep you warmer, this is a nice addition and isn't too much insulation to keep you overly warm. The pockets are in good locations and of good size to store almost anything on the ski slopes. The wrist cuffs can be tightened with a strap to ensure keeping snow out and warmth is kept in outside of the armholes as hand strapped material come out of the jacket to keep you warmer and prevent snow or cold air from coming in the armholes. I was hesitant to buy as I had never purchased this brand and there were no reviews but I am more than happy with the purchase as this item is perfect for skiing on cold winter days. The construction is phenomenal.
