You've been itching to pull the trigger on a pair of three finger gloves for a while now, so you'd might as well do it with the Oakley Factory Winter 2 Trigger Mittens. They're waterproof, insulated, and have that classic Oakley look to complement the rest of your kit.
- Hydrogauge waterproof insert
- Thinsulate insulation
- Leather palm
- Flocked nose wipe
- Item #OAK00UV
- Q & A
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I am loyal to trigger mittens. This is my first Oakley glove, so far it is great. It's a warm mitten (perfectly toasty in 25F temps), but that free finger is KEY for being able to crack open a cold one on the lift, strap in your bindings, or making shooty fingers at people that do cool stuff on their boards. Each finger has it's own compartment sleeve in the mitten portion of the glove, which I would prefer it not to have, but I've yet to find a trigger mitten that's different., so I suppose that's just standard.
These gloves are very warm and the split finger helps so much when taking off and putting on bindings. Give you that extra leverage!
Gloves - Oakley Trigger Mitten
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
The Oakley Trigger Mitts remain waterproof through weeks of daily, consecutive use, on and off piste, slack and back country; hands are toasty, and the dexterity is there (typing this review whilst wearing them). I've used the same mittens for two full seasons; I will use the same gloves again this season. Ruggedly crafted with excellent attention to detail, perfect fit. Zero complaints. Nose wipe especially useful during all-mountain wipeouts.
how tight is the cuff because i wear wrist guards and if they are too snug i wont be able to put them on and take them off efficiently
Hey Dustin, there is an adjustable wrist strap that changes its wrist circumference but there is some variance between sizes, but wrist guards would work if you size up.
Is there another fingered glove inside the mitt? Hoping not! Simply looking for a three fingered mitt that will also fit a small handwarmer inside for winter running etc.
