    Perfect Thickness for Cold Weather!!!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 160lbs

6ft and 165lbs my inseam is a 31 inches and my waist is a 32 inches. I ordered a medium. Tiny extra material at the bottom but i'm very happy with the fit. They would fit someone with a 32inch inseam perfectly. I recently purchased these for cold weather snowshoe trips. The attraction was if I heat up I zip them off without taking off the snowshoes and continue the ascent. The Design is perfect for the active junky! Two weeks ago I tried these out while running after work as the sun was setting and I have to say Northern Playground nailed it on the weight of the wool, keeps my legs at a perfect temp without overheating (snow on the ground and sun was setting). By the way no issues with the zipper while running, very comfortable, I barely noticed the zipper was there. I will be taking these on my Backpacking trip to Peru.

Highly recommend these to anyone that is doing any ski touring to snowshoeing or hiking during the winter.

    Great for skinning/mountaineering/hiking

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 185lbs

I have both, 3/4 length and the full length. Both are great design and comfortable to wear. The long version , I used extensively for skinning, mountaineering and hiking. Really warm for me when it is cold, but also really awesome that one can easily take them off when it gets too warm. Was wearing that long version on Denali with -30F temps. Design is great. My worries that the zippers will cause sore spots on skin did not materialize. This is designed by outdoor enthusiasts, it does not disappoint. Definitely recommend.

    Uphill ski

Been wearing a pair for a month so far - hiking and climbing, and soon backcountry ski. This is exactly what all backcountry skiers have needed for years, and I can't believe no one thought of it before now. Start your ascent with light layers, and then throw these guys on at the top to stay warm for the descent - takes 20 seconds. I'll be wearing these all winter.

These zip-off base-layers provide freedom you never knew existed. My favorite is using these for fishing, because I don't have to take my waders and boots off to shed a layer once it warms up. So perfect when it's freezing in the morning, then gets nice out. Looking forward to using them ski touring this winter as well for similar situations. Don't take my word for it though, check out this video and decide for yourself. It might not be for everybody, but when you need them they are awesome.
