You will never have to take off your ski boots to de-layer ever again! I have always had the issue of what to wear when I'm skiing in the Backcountry, especially with bottoms. I get so hot skinning up, and then cold skiing down. I usually just sweat through my baselayers and am super miserable on the hikes up because I am too lazy to take off my ski boots and de-layer/ add on more layers. With these I never have to ever again! I wore them touring last night and the wool kept me so warm while breathing so well. I didn't need to take them off because they breathed so well, but it's nice to have that option. I am definitely going to wear these skiing at resorts as well because this is just a perfect baselayer. I showed these off to my friends I was skiing with and just blew their minds. Such a good idea for a baselayer! For sizing, I would say it fits regular to large. I usually am a medium in leggings just because of my height and the fact I like my workout gear to fit a little more loose. These are a little looser, generous where they need to be without sacrificing overall fit. I could have gone with a small, but am happy I kept the medium. So stoked to find my new favorite baselayer, I would recommend them to anyone who skis!

Who wants to take your shoes off when you are layering or de-layering? I definitely do not and especially out in the backcountry. I wore boy shorts under my bibs when I was headed up hill. When I got to the top I was able to get these on within 5 mins. I definitely will be able to put them on faster the more practice I get. I should start timing myself! They are the perfect medium weight and I was warm flying down the mountain. The zippers on the side did not bug me whatsoever although I was mentally aware they felt different than my normal leggings that have no size zip. The material that covers the zip is the same as leggings but there is an elastic-ish band on the side that you will feel. Merino is super soft and not itchy so do not let that deter you from these. I have very sensitive skin so if anyone is going to get itchy, it would be me. Merino wools anti-microbial properties allows you to wear them many times before even having to wash them. Plus since you can put them on at the top you don’t have to sweat in them on the way up! Update: I wore these mountain biking in Moab this weekend. It was chilly in the morning and I needed some extra layers on my legs so of course my first thought was to bring these along. They fit perfectly under my Fox shorts and over my chamois. I love knowing that I can wear these for more than just snowboarding! Reach out to me directly if you have any specific questions!

Fit: These tights definitely fit small in the waist. Everywhere else seems to be ok but the waist is snugger than I typically wear for sportswear. I'm a true small across the board in all leggings that I've owned in the past. In hindsight I would go with the medium. Features: I LOVE this concept of zip wear. I went skate skiing earlier this season before I got the ziplongs and had to take my boots and leggings off to strip a layer down on my legs when it was 45 degrees out. Talk about awkward and embarrassing in front of other people. It's been much colder since I've received these and haven't had to change on the skate or skin track but I have changed at the car and it was so fast! I can take off my bibs and the ziplongs with ease. Check out the video I posted for an example :) Warmth: I wore these most recently on a ski tour near Jackson, Wyoming and it was storming and 15-20 degrees out. My layers for the day were cushion ski socks from darn tough, these leggings, and my gore-pro shell bibs. I was perfectly warm the whole time! I think I could push these down to 10 degrees but might want to combo it with the ZipBody for a warmer bum.

This was given as a gift and she loves them. I got her both the wool and fleece version and she said the wool was kind of itchy feeling when she first put them on, but didn't notice it while actually using them. She loves the 3/4 length which is perfect for ski/snowboard boots as well as biking in cooler weather. She thought the full length side zippers would feel weird or annoying, but she doesn't notice them at all and they're great for opening up to cool down while backcountry touring or biking. A bit pricey, but it's hard to find 3/4 length baselayers, so our options were very limited.

I wanted to love these but not sure how I feel about them now, they seemed to check most of the right boxes for what I was looking for... easy on/off layering during activity (the different colored zippers are great!), boot length, heavier weight... but really they just weren't exactly what I wanted. I had expected the wool would've been heavier weight than their fleece just guessing based on cost, but I am not sure that is the case (I have not seen the fleece), but the wool version just wasn't very thick, more of a mid-weight and its not as soft as other brands. Also, the top band elastic is pretty tight. the legs fit me great but not in the waist, would be better for someone that is more hourglass figure I suppose. And lastly, for the cost, think I will keep looking.

A new layering system

It's usually not an option to put on or take off your baselayers mid tour, or at least with any sort of ease. Game changer!
