    Technical Merino Wool

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XL
    • Height: 6'4"
    • Weight: 240lbs

This awesome base layer has been added to my arsenal of layers and will be my daily driver going forward. It's nice and light, with the perfect blend of nylon in the mix for durability.

    Soft and Comfy

    • Size Bought: L
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 175lbs

I picked up this baselayer to use for ski season. I am really happy with the piece. The Merino is incredibly soft and the cut of the shirt is tight but not as next to skin as other baselayers. I also really like the cuffs on the sleeves. They are a bit narrower than most other baselayers so they stay in place all day without bunching and sliding like others out there. If you are looking for a high quality merino base layer that will keep you comfy and warm this is a great option.

    Great for Skiing and Snowboarding!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 175lbs

This is a very high-quality merino wool baselayer. I wear it mainly for snowboarding but it's great for any outdoor activity where you need some extra warmth. I love merino wool because it regulates your temperature better than most fabrics and is naturally antimicrobial so it won't get stinky as quick as a polyester or cotton layer.
The 5-year warranty against manufacturer defects is amazing in case something happens like the stitching coming undone.

Will see a lot of use this winter!

This is the best performing base layer I own. The high quality wool feels great against the skin but even better is the fit. It fits snug without being tight. I hate layering for winter outings and having garments that bunch up under my shell or feeling like I'm in a skinsuit. This doesn't do that at all and still looks great if you just want to wear it as a standalone top.

      So Good!

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium.
      • Height: 5'10"
      • Weight: 145lbs

I am 5'11 and 145 lbs. The Medium is just right. Tight enough in the arms that it will slide will into other layers but relaxed everywhere else so you never feel restricted. It feels like a very high output activity winter layer or something that could be used in the fall if you find yourself standing around a little more.

      Gotta Love Wool Base Layers

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Size Bought: Large
      • Height: 5'11"
      • Weight: 180lbs

I am 5'11" and about 180lbs and went with a size large - all in all it fits really well and has a great feel on the skin for being wool.

Speaking of wool, I am a total sucker for it, especially merino . This base layer is so comfy, but keeps you warm and wicks nicely. The slight amount of nylon gives it a nice stretch, allowing for plenty of mobility in any sort of activity!

The fit of this piece falls along with the rest of Norrona's cut - longer arms than on many other brands. I don't have extraordinarily long arms (just a hair negative on the ape index my and this is my one slight complaint is they're longer than I'd ideally go with, but all in all in a non issue - I'd rather have slight too long of sleeves than too short!

I see this as a go to base layer for all things cold weather - a winter running top and a base layer for both resort skiing & touring. If I had a hut trip planned where I wanted to pack minimally, this would be it - warm, wicks, and can hold up to several days worth of use with out smelling too bad!

      So sweet

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium
      • Height: 5'11"
      • Weight: 145lbs

The fit on this baselayer is fantastic, especially around the shoulders and neck, but my favorite feature is the cuff which is much wider than others. They feel like they hug your forearms and slide nicely into other layers, no holding the cuff to keep it from bunching as you put on your midlayer or jacket. The fabric is very soft without feeling delicate. Hurricane Rosa brought a 24 inch winter preview to Utah and I was lucky enough to get in a rare October tour so had the chance to really put these to the test. Despite poor layer management and less than ideal physical conditioning I never felt like I overwhelmed this baselayer.

      So sweet

      The fit is Phenomenal!!

Gearheads and Smurf approved! The Norrona Wool Round Baselayer is a new Backcountry office favorite! The fit is perfect. Just tight enough in the arms to not bulk up when layering, loose enough in the torso to make you not feel restricted. It offers a great balance between form fitted and comfort.

      I'm 6' - 175 lbs. I went with a Large and fits perfect!

I bought these for my fiance for Christmas and he loves them. It's his second pair, they fit great, are soft and comfortable, plus the merino is durable.
