    I'm Obsessed

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 130lbs

First pair of goretex bibs and I couldn't be more obsessed. They run a little large so had to go with a size small, but fits perfectly and no pants ever fit perfectly (I'm 5'10). Super waterproof, really cute, love how they zip off into pants if you want them to, love how you can extend the bib, perfect pass pocket, love the full side zips. A+ product in my opinion, intend to wear for the next 10 years assuming they hold up like they seem to.

Tough, Tall, Great Looking Ski Pant

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 145lbs

I have been looking for tough but stylish pants that work for backcountry skiing and fit my long legs for ages. You will have to splurge on these, but they are well worth it. The long zippers on the sides keep you cool during long, steep ascents, and the re-inforced cuffs are great.
I have a 33" inseam and originally ordered a large as that was the size guidance and I often order big to fit my long legs, but they ended up being too big in the waist and butt, and the leg material rubbed when I walked. I down-sized to a medium and they fit great with thermals on underneath and are still long enough. I have good movement when hiking, crawling over boulders to get across streams, and ski. The adjustable velcro straps at the waist allow for adjustments depending on what you wear underneath and your hip size. I love all the pockets, and the suspenders are great to keep them from moving around - they also keep your shirt from riding up when you are hiking. Zippers are easy to manipulate when you transition from hiking to skiing and in gloves, or for quick changes in weather conditions.
They are slim fitting, which is great for me, but for fuller or more athletic builds that could be a bit constricting. Overall I have excellent initial impressions of the pants and plan to buy more Norrona gear - also like the lively blue color.
UPDATE: Second season in, these pants just keep truckin'. Still look great, and all of the pockets are super useful. I really love the length, and how effective the elastic at the pant bottoms are. The one thing I would say is if you have to find a tree (or a stall) a lot during the day, consider something other than a pant with suspenders - it isn't a huge problem for me, but when it's cold in the backcountry, it can be a real pain. Love the pants though.

    Great Ice Climbing Pants

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: L
    • Height: 5'5"
    • Weight: 158lbs

I purchased these after returning the Mammut Mittellegi Pro Pants which I liked but were way to snug. I'm curvy at size 12 so finding good pants is a big challenge as most are for more athletic or slim builds. The Norrona were my second choice.
Cons: They only had the Large, which fit but are a little snug in the hips and thighs but not enough to deter a 5 star rating.. I could probably do with the XL but the Large does fit with a base layer and an insulated layer.
Pros: I'm in AK so I need a pant that will take me to -20 or lower. I was pretty sure that I'd tear them since they were snug, but they actually performed very well. The full canvas around the cuff means that crampons don't have a chance to tear the cuff or catch. The waist-line is adjustable. There were enough zippers to let out a bit of room for the bum and thighs (which enabled me to wear them). The full side zips didn't run down when I lowered them and they stayed in place. They were actually warm and insulated very well against the deep Alaskan snow and the temperatures, though it was only -10 when I climbed. There is a bib that zips into the pants with suspenders which is fantastic and allows for flexibility without exposing the back. The knees held out well when I was scrambling rather than climbing at one time. They didn't pinch in a harness and the waterproof pockets kept my items dry. The built-in gaiters are very high which means traipsing through deep snow isn't an issue and prevents snow from getting into my Koflachs. The colour, which at first I was hesitant about, isn't bad and actually doesn't show to much wear. I've only used them once but I think they could become my next favorite pant. Although the Large was snug for me, I used a Ninja-suit and OR down pants for layering, (I put true to size, which they are...without to many base layers), there was enough room that I'm pretty sure an XL would work for a size 12-14 (or maybe 15). That means this pant can be used by those of us who need a bit more room in the bum. Overall, I'm really pleased with them and do recommend them. My season is just starting so I'll add to this review once I've used them in the Interior for a season. I've not used the Norrona brand before but overall, I'm more impressed with them then I am with my original 3 layer Gore-tex and find them compatible performance-wise to Mammut and the quality of both Mammut and 66 degree North Glymur. In AK, I don't need to be thinking about my pants performing or not as it's too cold and too remote in places. I need not to think about them. Which I didn't. That makes them a reliable pant for AK winter weather.
Update: Have worn them the entire winter mountaineering, ice climbing and winter packing. On one WI3 the ice was particularly hard and many of my climbing mates tore their pants and I tore my jacket. Our temp was about -17. These pants held up. They were warm, performed better than I expected and I'm now shopping for a second pair. Love them!

Great pant just a bit too long for me

This pants fits amazing at the waist-hips-legs the only issue-way too long for me-I am 5’5 , altering wasn’t an option as there is a lot going on at the bottom of each leg- technical stuff - zippers- snap buttons and so on so tailor that normally fixes all my pants said better not touch it so not to ruin the pants. This Norrona pants are really well made- good sturdy quality and great bright color(I got red ones) unfortunately had to return them. 5’5 130 pounds fits like a glove with room for a base layer as it just a shell pant so a bit taller person will truly enjoy this pants.

      The best

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size

I got these for my wife who is starting to get into backcountry skiing. She loves the suspenders and high waist as to help ward off any snow that may try and travel down the backside while skiing freshies. Very functional fit, easy to move in.

I want to be in you.. . uh, these.

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Large
      • Height: 5'9"
      • Weight: 165lbs

These bibs fit like a Goretex dream. (I'm 5'9" with a 30" waist and 25.5" thighs.) I ski in the soggy PNW, so I was looking for some full zip Goretex to use both on rainy lift days (that's fun, right?) and stormy or cold backcountry days. They're certainly not lightweight, but carrying those extra ounces of burly pant around on a tour seems like it might be worth the tradeoff for something that will last a long time. Bring on the winter.

Going on 4 year relationship with these

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: medium
      • Height: 5'6"
      • Weight: 135lbs

I have these bibs in four colors that's how much I love them. They are bombproof, keep me dry, breathe well, and the fit is great. I size up as the fit is a bit tight in the legs if I go with an accurate waist measurement, but I think I can accredit that to different body types in Norway versus South America:) I am larger in the quads and rear so I size up to a medium and use the awesome hip tab adjusters to tighten the waist and end up with a great relaxed fit. They are very high quality, move well, you hardly know you are wearing them. My go to for deep days, suspenders down on regular days.

      High quality pants

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: Medium
      • Height: 5'7"
      • Weight: 135lbs

Overall its a very nice ski pants of very high quality. While it hasn't snowed much in the last season, the few times it did, the pants holded up extremly well.
There are however some things that I wish Norrona would change in the future. The detachable bib part is somewhat flimsy. Thefront zipper of the bib part actually doesn't hold well and eventually I decided not to use the attachment anymore. There is also an attachment to the compatible jacket but again this is not working well. the zipper that attaches to the jacket is actually to short.
I also thought I would use the pants more for backcountry skiing but eventually found it a bit too stiff for that and used it more for pure downhill skiing.

I have an older version of these pants, have used them for the past 3 seasons and logged well over 200 days on them. The durability is impressive, and though they are nearing their retirement, I continue to use them. After puttin these thru the wringer? here are my impressions:

      PROS

      - Durable (ditto)

      - Comfortable, LOVE that I don't have a waistline impeding movement around the hill, you hardly know you are wearing these things. The newer version has MUCH improved upon the suspenders. The older pants used a material that stretched out pretty quickly. This year's model uses better suspender material, and the configuration of said suspenders is more comfortable and secure.

      - Waterproofing is awesome. I've treated these once with Nikwax Tech Wash and TX Direct and have never experienced problems with wetting out, even with extensive use. Really great.

      - Zips/vents! Waterproof zippers are awesome, I never worry about my valuables or electronics when stashed in these pockets. The HUGE full length zips on the pants are awesome, I love using these pants for touring or hiking because you can cool down so quickly.

      CONS

      - Even though the gaiters are reinforced, I wore holes into the outer fabric with my boot buckles after about 75 days. I reinforced them (ok -well, my mom did that, I watched) again with some heavy canvas, but they too have holes now. (Maybe I should adjust my stance???)

      - On the current version, Norrona uses a noticably thicker bit of reinforcing Aramid fabric. Hoping this addresses the issues I experienced with the older version.

All in all: great value. I've thrashed these, they still have life. Love 'em so much.

      HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

      Simply Amazing

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I used these in windy conditions as well as during a snowstorm that had the really wet snow. Never felt the wind or the snow even though my bibs were covered with the snow, I never got wet. Wore these with my Arcteryx Sidewinder SV jacket and Icebreaker 200 Oasis leggings, and they performed perfectly. Love the number and location of the pockets..I know that I'll be using these for many years to come.

      Best pants ever!!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

This is my second pair of these pants, and these ones hold up as well as the ones from two seasons ago. I use these while at my ski instructing job, and love them. They put up with the abuse from new skiers running into them, to shredding up the mountain in my free time.

On the negative wind chill days I wear a light base layer and usually a pair of soccer shorts under and am toasty warm.

The removable bib is awesome and easy to put on for those pow days. I also love the option to make this a one piece.

Overall these are worth the money, I have one pair that easily has 200+days on them and they are still as awesome as they where on day one, and my new ones have 30+ days of little kids running into them and still have no cuts in the material or signs of damage.

Even though these are a bit pricey I know I will not have to replace them for a few years and in the long run end up saving a ton of money with not having to replace my ski pants every year. That and I get a lot of comment on them.

Fit is true to size. Well waist is, I'm short so legs are always long on me.

Awesome pants - Love the high waist

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

I originally bought these because the colors were bright and uncommon for women! I liked the suspenders. They fit great - I took a chance and got an XS size - I wear anywhere between a 2-6 pant or a 30x32 levi's. They fit without being too snug or loose. Any larger I think would be baggy. All the pockets & zippers I love. Finally some great fitting pants in great colors and style for women! I actually got 2 pair in different colors.
