Sizing Info + Review
These are amazing. The zippers running from mid thigh to the end of the pant make entering and exiting ski/snowboard boots a breeze (ventilation is good too). Length size was perfect, though the bib (removable) was definitely snug and I am definitely on the thin side. The legs of the pants are definitely baggy, not what I would describe as "euro-fit". These are cut so that there is a great deal of bend with out putting stress on joints or the seat. These aren't insulated but the taped seams and Gor-tex pro are all but weatherproof so a pair of leggings and you're golden.

Sizing Information For Those Who Need It
I'm about to replace my NF 3 layer ski pants I bought from BC several years ago. I have 300+ days in them but it's time for a new pair. After reading the reviews on the sizing of the Norrona Lofoten I went to their factory store to try them on. I realize everyone doesn't have that option, so I thought I'd pass on what I learned. I'm 6' and 185 lbs. The large fit great BUT the upper bib part was way too tight with only a mid layer on. I spoke to the guy in the store and they are aware of this. I was led to believe that Norrona will start making specific sizing for North America next year. I've been to Norway twice. They are very lean. If you are straight up and down, this would be a great pant. They are incredibly well made and the pocket location and size are awesome. I will only buy 3 layer pants but every skier has their own needs. There is plenty of room without being too baggy. If it wasn't for the upper bib, I would have bought them. One other small issue with the fit was zipping up the upper bib. A little cumbersome but not a deal breaker. If you think they'll work for you, buy them. BC has free returns. I would recommend this pant for lean people only. Athletic builds or bigger may want to look elsewhere.

I originally bought these in 2014 and have used them on nearly every weekend warrior trip I've been on (including some summer trips). In all I probably have put 200+ days on these pants. Despite that, these pants still perform nearly as well as day 1 (They do need a fresh treatment of DWR...). It is also worth mentioning that the reinforced cuff at the ankles performed far better than I would have imagined. I have accidentally stabbed that material with crampons countless times and the material is still fully intact with minor holes which don't impact functionality due to the leg gaiters. I won't say this material is impervious, but it certainly holds up well to crampon points very well. I do think that these pants are a bit overkill for most people. The Lyngen (from what I can tell) is basically the same pants but without the bibs or full length leg zippers. The Lyngens are bib compatible, they just don't have them. As for the full length zipper, I find it's only useful if you don't want to remove your boots as you are taking off or putting on your pants. Everything else I've used the full zips for the Lyngens are more than able to with the zippers they include. That said, the full length zips ARE really nice for allowing you to put on or remove your pants without removing your boots. I've even left my crampons on while putting my pants on and this works just fine (I recommend care when doing this...). Overall great pants and I will be buying them again (when they go on sale...).

Iâve had previous generations of these pants and they have been my favorite. The latest generation doesnât disappoint but it has changed... sizing has been cut back a little around the waist and the upper bib part has seen a draw back in zipper size which Iâm not a fan of, my last bone to pick is the front pockets have gone down in size a smidge as well. Other than those small changes I still love my lofoten pants. Even if they do come with one of the biggest price tags on the market. *UPDATE:* ive got to be honest. like i said i had a pair of the original lofotens and they were great but this most recent pair has been straight up disappointing especially for the price. the lowers around the cuff tore in the first few uses, the crotch seam seal came apart after the first few uses, and under 20 uses the zipper pull broke. im not sure why they are using smaller zippers on a pant that costs so much money. pretty disappointed, its on the edge of where i cant justify telling people to get these. there are better pants out there for less money.

Not very durable
I've had these pants for three years and they have not held up to expectations for a pant this expensive. Granted, I've put these through the ringer but still... I'm going to try arc'teryx for this price and compare. Issues: The powder skirt zipper just stopped working around year 2 (and was quite tight to begin and i'm a light lad at 165lbs), Boot guard have gotten ripped up mostly my fault but still think it's excessive (but could be ego), the small hip pocket seam in the corner has failed resulting in a hole, and the seam on my right butt cheek failed last week, and doesn't repel water very well and for long (noticed after 2 years but prob need to get them treated). Praises: Pockets - love the back wallet pocket (rare), hip pocket, and three front leg pockets.

Not as tough and durable as claimed
Overall, the pants looks good, are still well made and comfortable. I bought them a few months ago and have just worn them once this season. I'm getting ready for my second trip and just noticed there is already a slight cut after 3-4 days of regular skiing. This is very unexpected from a pair of pants that is billed as tough and hard to cut. The zipper that attaches the bib though doesn't seem as well made and the zipper is already getting stuck.

Same thing happened to me with these pants. Sucks!

Nailed the sizing issue
So if you have felt odd like I have about having a medium jacket but needing to size up on the pants don't. I am 5' 11" (close hah) and fluctuate between 165-168lbs with a 34ish waist. Went with a size large. Have slightly longer legs for my height and not only nailed the length but also I am able to pull the adjustment tabs in a modest amount and still have a smooth look in the hip area without the dreaded wing look. Back butt area looks good as well. The size large attached via zipper stretch bib was just big enough to hug my mid section with an Icebreaker 260 weight top on underneath and not strangle me in that area or show my fat. The size medium that I tried on and sent back has a smaller stretch bib and was ridiculously tight. Was at the end of the waist range with the mediums which was ok but absolutely no room to pull in or let out the adjustments if I had more the a thin base layer top on. Mediums felt and looked short. Have owned size medium in years past and they just seemed to be cut bigger everywhere. I'll just blame gravity and am totally fine with the size Large and they look smooth under my Lofoten Pro GTX jacket. Good to go for seasons to come and look forward to adding another color later.

Amazing! And i haven't even skied yet!
I have the lofoten jacket already and have been eyeing these pants to match since last year. Given the steep price I was waiting for a good deal on sale and as soon as I saw these at the price, I jumped and so glad I did. Ive been nothing short of amazed and impressed by the jacket, the pants do not dissapoint! Unreal fit, the features on the pants is genius, the included bib or the skirt all perfectly and easily attach to the jacket to make a bomb proof kit! I cant wait to get on the mountain in these! And to be honest, id be happy to pay the regular price for any Norrona gear, its that good! But getting any on sale feels like im stealing!

Does Norrona sell the bib attachment separately? I found the bibs to be tight on my when I tried on these pants and would want to size up the bib part only, if possible.
