Why We Like The Lofoten GORE-TEX Pant
When protection from the elements is essential for the day, we throw on the Lofoten GORE-TEX Pants from Norrona. These burly 3-layer pants feature Aramid lower leg reinforcements and fully taped seams for waterproof, breathable protection in any conditions. When we hit the deep stuff, the internal boot gaiters keep snow outside where it belongs, especially when combined with the YKK water-resistant zippers used throughout.

New Favorite Ski Pants

The Lofoten Gore Tex pants are my new favorite ski pants. I have not hit the mountains with them, but looking forward to the next ski trip! I have not doubts about the performance of the pants as I am familiar with Gore Tex products. These pants appear to be well made and will last for a long time. I am an odd ball size...typical jean size pants are 35" x 33-34". I typically have a hard time finding pants that fit as I am btw the standard waist sizes and the inseam tends to be too short. The sizing chart for Norrona was strange, so I took a size large. It fits perfectly! I love that these pants are designed for the athletic types...a little baggy in the thighs and legs to allow for layering, and snug around the waist and crotch. In other words, they have a classic design for functionality and are not baggy and saggy along the waist and seat.

I love these pants. They are pretty costly but having used the same pair for 20years, I decided to treat myself. The fit is not too baggy but not constricting either. The waist is adjustable so can get a real custom fit. I would buy them again. I have only used them 8 days on the mountain but so far no signs of wear or cuts on the legs.

GREAT BUY

I’m 6 foot and 200 pounds. Size large fits very well for me. The wast is the correct size and the length also Is correct especially to fit over ski boots. The gaiters are large enough to get over the ski boot with a battery pack for the boot heaters. The cuffs also have two snap sizes to further close that opening around the ski boot. Nice. I’ve used the pants three times. Today the conditions were a rain snow mix and the seat of the pants kept the moisture out completely. At this point I am very satisfied both with the fit of the pants and there performance in rather difficult conditions. For the price, on sale these are a very good option to consider.

These pants are awesome! Fit is long overall but not baggy very articulated in the right places. Vents are well done and I like that they are mesh lined so I can forget to zip them up and not get snow in my britches. Phone holster in the right pocket is perfect for getting at while skining or on the lift and keeps your phone secure while skiing instead of flopping all over the pocket. Skied a 20” pow day in classic heavy PNW snow and took a few diggers and ride the lift in freezing fog. Stayed dry as a tater chip! Skinned 3k on a 35 degree day and stayed cool enough. Not a real test of durability so far but the build quality seems high and I don’t expect any issues after having them in hand. On the fit. I am a true smedium and tried both the small and medium and went with the medium. The waist adjustment is awesome and even with it cinched pretty tight they don’t look oversized or over tightened.

Nice build quality, terrible sizing

Seems like a well constructed pair of ski pants. Unfortunately I can't comment on how they perform as Norrona's sizing is woefully inconsistent. I initially ordered size large which runs very large and very tall. Backcountry was kind enough to help exchange for mediums, which are quite the opposite and very tight through the hips, butt, and waist. There's no stretch/give. Not sure how the same pair of pants can have such a variation between sizes, but cannot recommend these if you have an athletic build. I should add the lower legs are very loose, so these are not a slim cut pant.

I purchased these pants to go with my new Lofoten Gore Tex Pro Jacket. I originally purchased the Pro Plus version pants but they where just to wide in the legs for my taste. These fit much better for my style, the technical fit compared to the regular fit was very noticeable. The over all quality of these pants are top notch and definitely able to hold up in the backcountry quite well. Vents placed at the rear of the legs had allot of thought put into them, with the placement of the zips and they work so much better compared to having them on the inner thighs. I also have the Lofoten Gore Tex insulated pants and a few other Gore Tex ski pants but these Lofoten Gore Tex have become my new favorite.
