Haven't used yet - Just a fit review

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

So far these seem pretty rad - I'm excited to use them. I just tried them on:
I got a medium and they're baggy (I 'm not a wear-my-baggies-like-lycra girl, but I don't want to get caught on things either). According to the size chart, I'm pretty sure a small would be too small though, so I'll run these and see how it goes.
I'm 5'8" 135lbs, 37" hips, 26" waist, and I have plenty of room to put on 20 lbs, should I so desire :D

    Great knee coverage, very comfy

I prefer longer shorts with knee coverage to help with the scrapes I'm prone too when going down on wet roots and logs . These give great knee coverage and are very comfy. If you are normal sized, fit should be perfect. For me, with a small waist and huge butt, the size small is snug in the butt, BUT I'm used to that. Wish they sat a bit lower on my hips, but that's always the case for me. I love these shorts.

    Nice quality and fit

I returned the brighter pairs that I ordered as I refer a more subtle look on the bike. The logo running down the side is to subtle, but I can learn to live with it until it falls off.
I kept the black / grey pair. They put thought into these which I appreciate. Reinforced ass, bomb-proof fabric, over-the-knee length which is nice for cooler days and wearing knee pads. The double zip side vents with contrasting color is a nice touch. Multiple zippered pockets that are actually deep enough to put things in (every woman knows about getting short-sheeted in the pocket department).

    Awesome!

They are my favorite mountain biking shorts and I have tried a few brands. They fit great, comfortable, and because they are high rise on the back, the pack doesn't cause any chafing. Also the zipper on the sides allows me to loosen them up to take my protective gear off with ease.

    Norrøna Fjørå Flex1 Shorts

Durable and fully featured mountain bike shorts, made of durable flexTM1 fabric. This technical product has a below-knee cut for protection as well as articulated knees, meshed side venting and stretch panels on rear and inseam. Accommodates padded Lycra shorts underneath. With all of its special features and good mobility we predict that this pair of shorts will become a favorite.

      One of a kind

Thank you Norrona, for making the best mountain bike shorts a lady can buy! These shorts are everything I could've asked for. The longer length on them is perfect for downhill or days at the bike park, and there is absolutely no gaper gap between the shorts and a set of kneepads. They're also made of a great durable yet lightweight fabric, with exceptional venting for pedaling in the heat. I ordered a size small, but found that they are a bit loose, but I am hesitant to order the XS as I'd rather they be a bit loose than too tight. I hope they are available in more sizes and colors next spring!

Since I went ahead and bought the turquoise color of these shorts, thought I would share once again how amazing they are as well as how awesome the bright Norrona colors stand out against gorgeous Utah fall colors.

My Norrona Problem is now a Bike one too

As if I didn't have a major Norrona gore tex problem in the winter, they just had to also make amazing mountain bike shorts. These shorts are great. The black is really more of a grey, and the fabric is tough yet breathable. I am 5 foot 7 135 with muscular legs and although my waist could fit in a small , I have to go medium in order to accommodate thighs and rear. The waist tabs are therefore very useful! The fit is loose without being overly baggy and the length is great. Will probably get more colors, a girl can never have too many mountain bike outfits!

Haven't tested these yet because I'm waiting for a broken hand to heal. For now here is sizing info and initial impressions.

In true Norrona style - these are the fanciest, most teched-out bike shorts I've ever laid eyes upon. Really impressed with the construction, features and fit. Especially loving the lengthy side zips and the fact that my bum doesn't look like a huge diaper with my chamois on. WIN.

I am 5'3" and 120 lbs and the size small fits very nicely. The waist tabs are very adjustable. I don't love the huge logo - but oh well.

The fabric is super comfy and not restrictive at all. I can tell it's going to most likely be very durable and abrasion resistant.

Short - Freaking awesome, black is really quite gray, size large fits my size 12 thighs/booty, pocket placement is perfect.

TLDR - I have a Norrona short problem. I have a Norrona winter problem as well. It's just so functional! It fits, it's burly, and the colors! I bought these shorts with a bit of concern that the slim Scandi's wouldn't be down with my large lady thighs. I should have known though... I'm a size 12 in most pants (vanity fit will get me down to 10 once in a while) and I bought a pair of these in large. Plenty of room. Almost too much room in the butt if I was to run them without a chamois very often. They go past the knee and are comfortable pedaling in. Crotch fit is solid (not going to catch on my saddle), pocket placement is perfect and hidden, and the waist tabs work well. They're tall in the back so no sketchy southern exposure on those uphills!

Similar products - I have both the men's Fjora Lightweight short and the regular Fjora which is now the Flex1 in medium. These fit a bit looser than those two in the hips/thighs (too be expected).
