Keeping things light and comfortable is a big deal in demanding backcountry environments, which is why you always shave your mustache before a big trip. The Norrona Falketind Windstopped Hybrid Men's Jacket is the outerwear equivalent of a shorn 'stache—a lightweight, comfortable, and smooth softshell for everything from ski touring to alpine climbing to trekking.
Norrona made the body of the Falketind from Windstopper softshell, a windproof (surprise!), water-resistant, and stretchy fabric that cuts the chill and breathes to prevent water vapor from building up on your skin. Extra stretchy and breathable Flex 1 softshell gives the underarms, back, and hips extra freedom of movement and comfort, while the two-way underarm zips provide even more breathability during high-output activities. The Falketind is reasonably minimalist, but it does offer some thoughtful touches like a helmet-compatible hood, pack and harness-compatible hand pockets, and a soft chin guard to prevent irritation when you duck your dome into the wind.

All windstoppers are similar, with one exception this jacket has - pit zips. Not all pitzips are created equal though. On this jacket they open on either end so you can vent selectively - open up slightly under your arms and open slightly on the side of your torso - at the same time and you've got two venting areas working.
I've tried tow other brands jackets that have super breathable areas under the arms and sides which allow "uncontrolled cooling," when you don't want cooling.
The only negative and it is significant is no chest pocket which I find odd for Norrona because that is a feature I like on their products.
