Overall excellent fleece.
I have owned my falketind for five months and have found this is a pretty versatile mid layer jacket. A problem with fleeces I have owned is that they often have been too warm when I am active and not hot enough when I am not. But, I sort of put up with them because they are light weight, and dry quickly. This one is working a lot better for me, and have kept me comfortable way more than I have learned to expect from these synthetics. I would highly recommend this product.

Meh... the R1 from Patagonia is better
I got this fleece and the R1 from Patagonia. In my opinion the R1 has a more athletic fit. I also thought the material the R1 is made out of on the inside and outside was more comfortable. I've been using the R1 almost daily for 2 weeks now and have no problems with it. It's a great midlayer and I would advise anyone looking at this fleece to consider the R1 also!

Just picked up my second Falketind warm 1. The first is going strong after three years, just wanted another color. This fleece is the most versatile piece of layering I have ever owned, and that says something since I have bought and used well over 40 fleeces in my life.

Nice lightweight mid
I bought this piece a while back and used this a lot, mainly for ski touring and colder outdoor activities where I am moving fast. It runs a little small in my opinion, but I believe is common of Norrona. If you have any questions please let me know!

I was looking for a non-bulky top for winter golf (comfortable in 40s weather) and found this. I'm 5'11" / 190 lbs and found size L to fit like glove. I wear it over a capalene 1 tee and find the combination perfect for achieving full mobility of motion in the golf swing while staying comfortably warm.

So let me get this out of the way: I have never been disappointed with a norrona fleece. I have an old Narvik Warm 3 - 6 years old, probably worn it 300+ days, and it's finally showing signs of being ready for retirement... I haven't tested the durability of this yet, but I haven't taken it off for 3 days. It fits a bit more baggy than most insulating layers, but it's just fine under a jacket.

Replaced my Patagonia R1
I've been using a Patagonia R1 jacket as my mid-layer for a while when I need that type of insulation for cool weather, often strenuous hikes. While the R1 is a great jacket I've often wished that there were a thinner, more ventilating fabric on at least part of the arms. My arms tend to get hot and clammy, especially under a shell. Enter the Norrona Falketind Warm1. If you look closely on the picture of the back of the jacket you'll notice that there's a different fabric on the insides of the arms and along the sides of the torso. This is the Polartec Powerstretch material and it goes all the way to the cuffs. This is a much thinner material than the rest of the jacket which uses Polartec Thermal Pro. It's also really stretchy. This gives the jacket more breathability in these areas. I love the hidden side pockets which disappear in the seam. There are thumbholes in the cuffs. One small disadvantage is the Polartec Thermal Pro material as used here. I used this jacket with an older Gregory Z30 backpack with a mesh back. Well, the mesh back acted like a cheese grater on the Polartec Thermal Pro and after a long hike the entire mesh was filled with green fabric from the jacket (I have the bamboo green jacket). I was worried that this had removed a bunch of loft and insulation from the jacket but I cannot tell any difference. The Patagonia R1 does not have this problem as it has a "hard" surface, not a fluffy one like the Norrona. Still, I prefer this jacket over the Patagonia R1 now. I might have to get another one in a different color...
