    Finally - Flattering Hardshell Pants!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 135lbs

I regularly ski tour in the Pacific Northwest, so hardshells are a necessity on those slightly "wetter" tours. I was so excited that the Falketind pro pant is fully waterproof, but also really lightweight and cut to flatter. I'm 5'8' and a size 4 in jeans, and the size S fit perfectly. They were long enough to hit right at boot-top, and slim fitting while still giving me room to layer in fleece leggings for a resort day.
Details matter, and I loved that these pants had a mesh phone-sized pocket in the larger thigh pocket, so I could keep my phone both handy and dry when pulling it out to use the GPS or camera. Side zips are great for venting on the uphill track, and they run all the way down, which made it easy to release my boot into walk mode from the side, while still having the very bottom snap fixed around my boot to avoid that "bunched" uphill look.
While there are loops to add a belt, there is no belt included with these pants, and I found that the snap waist closure came undone when I sat down in these. Easily fixed by adding an after-market belt.
These are a fantastic layering piece for the all-season athlete - from deep winter to wet spring. AND they actually look cute, which is no small feat for gear this technical.

    Waterproof, Great Fit

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

I gifted these to my cousin that wanted to take them for long hikes and skiing, and she has nothing but good things to say. She lives in a very rainy area, so finding something waterproof was a must - and after many hours of testing these have still held up to the test. She said the side zippers are a life saver when she started to warm up and get moving into a hilly area.

They run true to size and the adjustable velcro tabs make them easy to customize should the fit not be perfect out the box. They run a little bit on the long side but if you plan on wearing with ski or hiking boots they should be perfect.

    Not for Skiers

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: med and large
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 145lbs

I bought these for alpine touring. I ordered both a medium and a large - I'm 145 lbs and 5'4", athletic build. The mediums would not even go over my thighs. The large fit ok on the top half but the legs were way too long for any activity at my height. The bottom of the pants would not fit over the top of my ski boot - and even if it did fit there was no gaiter to keep any snow out which is kind of essential at least in the backcountry. These might work for hiking or climbing but definitely NOT for skiing.

    get one!

cool design, good fit but rather short inseam (i´d guess 31-32) - i´m 5'11 and usually wear a size 10 - got the large as i intend to use it as a rain/stormshell over hiking/ski touring pants, very light & packs down small

Finally a well designed pant for women!!

I have searched for the perfect gore-tex pant for ice climbing. I am 5'8",and I wear a size 8 but I have a woman's figure...meaning there is a difference between my waist and my hips! I also have some pretty strong legs. These anatomical features of mine make it difficult to find a pant that fits in the waist and hips, while allowing me to get my feet up really high...I also want a pant that looks great, is not too heavy, well made, etc. FOUND IT! These pants are solid. Way better than all of the Arcteryx that I own. They have an adjustable waistband and belt loops, shock cord loops and boot hook. Smallish crampon protection patch, but more importantly they are slightly tapered down at the bottom so you don't have all that excess fabric flapping around waiting to trip you. Great length. I ordered the medium and the large. I tried them both on a zillion times with different weight long underwear and finally went with the large. I could have easily gone with the medium if I was just going to wear them for ski touring or general mountaineering. But for ice climbing with my warmest long underwear, I felt I needed the extra room so I could get my knees up as high as possible with no restrictions. They will be a bit baggy around the hips and butt, but they still look better and are made better and function better than anything else I own at this point.
