Its Gore-Tex shell gives this unique parka guaranteed waterproof breathable protection so you don't have to worry about your jacket soaking through during winter storms, and Norrona stuffed this parka with 200g PrimaLoft Sport insulation that's very warm, surprisingly light, and incredibly soft. Quality product

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: M
  • Height: 6'0"
  • Weight: 193lbs

Sizing is a little off in my opinion. I ordered the L and exchanged it for a M. I am 6 ft / 193 lbs / athletic build / 42R for a suit jacket / 34 inch sleeve for a dress shirt. The sleeves on the L reached down below the last knuckle on my fingers so just finger tip was exposed and body had too much space. The sleeves on the M reached just above the first knuckles on my hand (like the video shows) - body space was appropriate, close but not too snug even with a sweatshirt underneath.

Wore it outside today in Chicago 32 degree weather with wind - performed admirably. Hood is deeper than expected - kept all the wind out. Good warmth. Lots of well placed pockets. Only negative is the main zipper sometimes gets sticky around the neck area.

A handsome jacket and I am sure no one else from work owns a Norrona - which appeals to me. Nice color and well built for the elements. Clearly designed by people who have to deal with nasty weather. I look forward to testing it when the sleet is falling sideways and I have to stand and wait on the train platform.

Great first impression from Norrona. I am a fan.

Coat is nice, sizing seems off.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Medium
  • Height: 5'9"
  • Weight: 160lbs

I received this coat during the holiday's and now have worn it a few times. It's definitely a very nice jacket, tons of pockets, definitely warm enough for NYC winters. I love how it's different and no one else has one or has even heard of Norrona.
However, I received a medium and the sleeves are very long for someone my height. I am roughly 5'9 and weigh 160 and the sleeves pretty much cover my entire hands. Maybe I should be wearing a small but the rest of the coat feels and looks ok on me. All in all I just wish it had a better over-all fit then how it currently feels on.

Re: fit and color

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I can't comment on long-term ownership of this parka having worn it once today outside for the first time. However, I can comment on the sizing and colors.

Based on some comments below that the sizing ran small, I ordered a large in Ocean Swell (blue). I should have stuck w/ the size chart. Large was a little baggy around the waste and chest - might have been too much even over a suit - but the sleeve diameter and length was way too generous and I have long arms.

Next I ordered the same jacket in medium. The sleeve length was still generous but acceptable: out to the first knuckles with arms straight out. The chest and waist were perfect. Medium was my size. Now I took time to really check out the color and decided Caviar might work better with work clothes.

Enter Medium Caviar. Color is really, really cool. Not jet black like the pictures suggest... almost a charcoal that has a very faint bluish tint. Third time's the charm.

Other notes: zipper's a little sticky but heavy duty, won't break. Stitching/construction on inner liner is Arcteryx-level. It's warm.. 20 today in NYC and I was gloating to my coworkers at lunch. The full-zip hood is a novelty, won't use it much but it doesn't irritate the skin and looks fine. Built-in mittens are neat, not sure if I'll use them long-term as the fleece lined pockets are comfy and warm.

My first Norrona item and I'm a fan, look forward to trying a technical piece.

Cool design

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

This is from Norrona's /29 line which is their casual, everyday clothes, but usually with a bit of a technical outdoor clothing twist to the design. The design is unique and cool.

The fabric was impressive and seems really rugged. I liked all the design details. The silly zipper that goes all the way to the top of the hood, the pockets and zippers, all of which are of metal if I remember correctly.

I had some issues with the main zipper. It was a bit tricky to zip up, partly because it's metal and partly because it's a parka and you have to reach quite far down.

The jacket is very heavy but it will presumably keep you warm.

I really wanted to keep it, but I do not live in an area where it gets cold enough where I could use this often. Winters here are short. If I did live in a place with a long cold winter I probably would've kept it.

Excellent parka for a big city

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

Color caviar looks preferable if worn with a business suit.

The temperature for use 32F (0 C) / 9F (-12.7 C)

Size XL:

Weight - 211 lbs (95.7 kg)

Height - 5'97 (182 centimeters),

Chest - 44 inch (112 centimeters),

Waist - 39 (99),

Hip - 43,5 (110),

Sleeve(from the center of the neck across the elbow to the wrist) - 36 (92)

Sleeve(of dimples on the shoulder through the elbow to the wrist) - 26,5 (67)

Tried size L - fits up against, sit without unfastening the bottom Parks impossible. You can wear a business suit, but it will be difficult to breathe.

As a result, bought XL - fits perfectly, even with a business suit.

Waist drawcord is not needed, since the park is narrow at the bottom and cold air does not pass to the chest.

Sleeves me reach knuckle of the thumb.

Top gloves are built just need to turn in a pocket in these gloves and they will not interfere, but rather help if you forget the gloves.

One pair of outer pockets imeeet warm lining - you can warm your hands.

Very thoughtful tailoring.

Convenient zipper that can be buttoned up to the top of the hood.

Convenient when you want somewhere to sit and relax - you can close the zipper halves to the nose and hood closed bright light outside.

Certainly Norrona - champion quality.

Parka is worth every penny.

Excellent choice for a big city.

Has two jackets Canada Goose.

Norrona washable using special detergents

and Canada Goose - dry clean only.

I'm very sorry it's so late acquainted with the

undisputed leader in the production of high-quality casual

clothes for the city (series Norrona / 29).

Profitable to buy at, than the native site.

Undoubtedly recommend.

Can anyone help in choosing ...

Glad you've read to the end of my review!

First impressions

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Been searching all winter for a new coat and despite the lack of any reviews, thought I would give this one a try. The medium fit my 5-10 170lbs frame fine with a bit of extra space in the shoulders. The build quality is quite nice, not puffy looking at all, but should def do the job for a northeast winter. The jacket has a two way zip but no waist drawstring. The built in mitts are a cool idea, but they do make getting the jacket on and off slightly more cumbersome, and make the cuffs feel a bit scratchy on the wrists due to the seams. The zipper can literally zip all the up through the hood, which I suppose is great for a headless horseman costume come Halloween (?), but I doubt I will use this feature otherwise. It is nice however, to be able to zip up through the jacket hood so only a small area of my face is exposed to the elements on the worst of days. Lots of well placed and functional pockets on inside and outside of jacket. Overall a thumbs up for me.

Unanswered Question

I'm comparing this to the Uber Regulator and Arcteryx Therme and was wondering which is most suitable in very cold temperatures. I'm looking for a gift for someone living in Moscow, who wears suits and needs a "semiformal" warm parka.

Also - how long are the sleeves relative to size? In case I buy for myself - I am 5 11, 180 lb., with broad shoulders and very long arms. XL is usually good for my arms but if it's not a fitted style, it looks like a large sack.
