    An all-season ultralight fleece.

Ski with the Norrona Women's Falketind Warm1 Fleece Jacket as a midlayer, then take it hiking and camping in the shoulder seasons, and then go alpine climbing in the summer. Lightweight Polartec Thermal Pro fabric makes this fleece surprisingly warm for all-season adventures, and Power Stretch panels provide a full range of movement for any activity.. This full-zip also features a tall collar for excellent coverage, stretchy hand gaiters with thumbholes for easy layering beneath a shell, and hand pockets that you can always access even with a pack or a harness on. Best of all, because Backcountry.com is the exclusive retailer for Norrona in the states, you won't see others sporting this stylish fleece around the outdoors.

    So in love

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: large

Ordered this on a whim for an upcoming trip to Europe. Even at Backcountry still fairly expensive for a fleece. I am so glad that I ordered this. I have an athletic build with curvy hips and weigh 176 so I ordered a large. Fit is perfect. I have worn it all day today while running errands. Glad I decided to treat myself and can't wait to wear this on my trip

    Yummy

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

i am 5'5 @125lbs, and i bought this in the Medium - which hits low on the hips for nice backside coverage, while the arms fall to the second knuckle on my hands- which also has thumb loops. I like to use this piece for layering, it's not restrictive, nice movement, and very lightweight.

Nice, but has a slight functional problem

Just got the jacket. Like it overall, but there is a small functional problem. First the positives. It is indeed made of Thermal Pro, which is a highly efficient fleece, in terms of warmth to weight ratio. At only 8.5 oz, I was planning to use it year round for backpacking and skiing. It's really fashionable, enough for daily use, the blue color is very bright, and the sewn-on Norrona and Falketind logos are bright green. Given the warmth and loft of the fleece, it'll certainly be enough for 3 season outerwear, and layering for skiing. The wrist looks a bit different from the picture here, most notably there are thumb holes, and they are low bulk and work well.

Now on to the functional issue. I know the Falketind line is designed for lightweight mountaineering, so the side pockets are placed high to make it easy for use with harness. However, the top of the pockets really interferes with the female anatomy, making it rather bulky if you know what I mean - and I'm pretty skinny. The key is you cannot wear an underwire bra - but hey when you are out there in the wild, you probably won't anyway.

Will you be getting more in stock? Many of the size/color combos are sold out.
