Light, packable, and warm.
Packed into own chest pocket, the Norrona Women's Falketind PrimaLoft 60 Insulated Jacket hardly seems enough to stop the wind, let alone keep you roasty-toasty warm. Yet this horizontally-baffled puffy is filled with powerful PrimaLoft. This superb synthetic insulator stops heat from making a break for it and won't go weak in the knees when the winds scream. PrimaLoft absorbs less water and is 24% warmer when wet than other competitors.
The high collar saves your neck from blood-sucking fiends and brutally brisk breezes. Polartec Power Stretch Cuffs grip your wrist so the wind doesn't freeze your forearms. The two hand pockets are harness- and pack-friendly so you always have snacks at your fingertips. The internal zipped pocket is perfect for your passport or point n' shoot when on the the go, and doubles as the stuff sack when the sun is out and the wind finally dies down. Throw a hardshell over the Falketind when the forecast calls for blizzard-like conditions.

- Q & A
I looked at this coat for two winters (I really wanted the bright pink). Due to bring very cold natured, I wear primaloft coats and vests in layers indoors (my work requires some intermittent time outside, so this works really well, and I add a down coat on frigid days when I head outside). I've worn primaloft by other companies and this one is comparable. I do like the the longer length on the back of this coat. Is it worth the extra price over other brands? Probably not. I got mine on sale, which is why I waited for so long. I've been pleased and would buy another (Kelly Green-hint hint).
