Pegasus Trail 2 Running Shoe
Updated for improved comfort and performance, while holding firmly to its classic looks, Nike’s Pegasus Trail 2 running shoe may have some features that add that extra spring in the step. Traditional lace-up style and drag-race profile help set the tone for this speedy trail shoe. Setting off under the mid-day sun, you’ll notice the breathable and fast-drying upper mesh cooling your feet and evaporating the last mile’s creek crossing with ease. The updated Air Zoom unit at the forefoot provides you with a durable and responsive running experience. A cushioned midsole made of Nike’s React foam improves endurance while adding a bit of rebound to propel you towards negative splits. Rubber nubs on the sole dig into rocks and roots along the way to provide sure-footed, traction on your way to the perfect run.

Pro: If you are injured and need an extra cushioned shoe, this may be an option to try. Especially if you heel strike. Con: It is so cushioned it may cause your feet and legs to feel pain. The surfaces I tried these shoes on are concrete, gravel and wet dirt. I started to feel pain in my feet that I had not had before, in the center of my heel and the outer edge/lateral right side of my foot. Also, the material on the top over the toes is very tight and does not leave enough space for your feet to stretch, even though the material is giving. This may be because the cushion is so high that it doesn't leave a lot of room. Lastly, the shoe does feel a bit unstable. I found myself over compensating for the instability and developing leg pain. Even on hikes without running I felt pain developing. I was developing pain from the instability and from the extra cushioning. It is past the 30 day return period, I wish i could still return it. It was a waste of money.
