Got these shoes on sale, was stoked to try them out on some trails around my house. All around great running shoe for the trail, very comfortable and I'm happy with them so far after about 10 runs. I definitely recommend them.

    !Caution! shoes may be used!!

I received a used pair of Air Zoom Wild horse shoes 2/1/2017. Upon opening the brown box shipping packaging, I found the orange Nike running box smashed up and with dirt and dust within the box. As I took out the shoes to inspect them I saw that not only were the bottoms of the shoes worn and dirty but also the inner removable insole had a dirty black imprint of the persons toes who had previously worn these so called new shoes. I immediately called customer service and was told they have a small retail store which they let their customers use their shoes before buying....This type of circumstance is totally unexceptable and disgusting. I will never buy from this online retailer again.

      Hey Aaron,

I apologize for the shoes, it is true we have a retail store where we allow people to try on shoes but the above picture does not represent that. The shoes have clearly been used, please reach out to me at anebeker@backcountry.com so we can make this right.

      Great shoe!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

This shoe is comfortable! As with most shoes it will conform to you as worn with time. The pronounced waffle bottom is perfect for the trail traction. These have been worn on trails, turf/grass fields and even holds its own on snowy terrain. I have even wore them on the golf course with much success and comfort. The textured toe box is water resistant which is great for dew in the morning. I would recommend these to anyone for running, to hiking, to casual wear.

      Great shoe!

I got these for my brother in-law as a gift. He's training for a trail race and has used them a few times now with nothing but great things to say. The traction is versatile and reliable, the fit is comfortable and true, and they look good as well!

      Very Good Shoe

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs small

This is my first trail running shoe and I couldn't me more happy. Very light and firm. As a side note, they double up as a great golf show as well. Looking forward to using these more. I ordered a half-size larger and they fit like a glove.

For years, whenever I was in the market for new trail runners, I never even looked Nike's way because I figured they were a basketball/football shoe, so what could they know about trail running? But, recently I decided to do a little research on them and it turns out they're pretty well respected in the trail running world, so I decided to give them a try. The Wildhorse is a bit stouter than their Terra Kiger, and that better suits my running routes and style, so that was my choice. I've only been running in them about 10 days and on about 100 miles of Montana mountain trails so far, but I am very impressed. I was worried that being the heartier of Nike's shoes that they might be bulky, heavy, clunky and stiff, but that is not the case at all. They feel very comfortable and light on my feet...much better than the two pairs of Salomons and pair of North Face Ultra Endurance I've used in recent years. Despite that light, comfortable feel, they protect your feet very well. The rock plate and outer sole aren't too stiff and do offer some responsiveness, yet I haven't felt any pain from the rocky trails I've run so far. And while traction has never been a big issue for me, since all trail runners seem to have at least adequate grip on most surfaces, I have to say the Wildhorse has the best traction I've ever experienced in a shoe...on steep loose terrain, wet or dry rock, and the muddy grades I've run the past few weeks.

I'm size 11 and they are true to size for me. There was a tiny bit of stiffness to them right out of the box, but by the second run that was gone and they felt just about perfect. Now, will they last? That's the big question, and a problem I've had in recent years with every shoe I've tried. If I get some reasonable wear and tear out of these, I think I've found my go-to shoe for a while.

      Run small.

Initial impression... This is a unique Nike shoe. It looks big from the outside. It has a nice wide toe box for a Nike, but overall the shoe runs small. I ordered a 1/2 size up and they are snug for a sneaker fit. For a looser fit I'd say go up a full size, easily. There is a hard material protecting the area over the toes, and this might rub or pinch ya, and it effects the fit. The heel has tons of padding. Overall they are comfortable.

        Light as a feather

        • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
        • Fit: Runs small

These shoes are great. Lightweight and high quality! I bought them as a gift, wound up being a little snug so had to go a half size larger.

        Great Trail runners

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size

I use these not only as trail runners but for backpacking. These are lightweight with a great fit. Great for traction where I hike and run where I am going up and down through streams and roots. These are my favorite out of all I have ever worn.

        awesome

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Height: 5'8"
        • Weight: 150lbs

I am using this shoe as a around town/gym shoe and stoked on them. Really comfortable with great support. They seem to run true to size. My favorite feature is the wrap around tongue feature. The tongue never bunches or slips and feels like you are wearing a sock instead of a shoe.

        Awesome running shoes

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: 11.5

These are supper comfy shoes. In the past my trail running shoes have felt like I am only running on rocks, but these they feel like you are running on clouds. Also, this shoe has great protection, just encase you misstep that cloud and step on a rock.

Overall these are great shoes with excellent traction. I typically wear 11.5 and with these they are defiantly true to size.

        great for running

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

these shoes are awesome, they are very comfortable to run long distance in. they have great support and dont make your feet hurt.

        • Height: 6'3"

I haven't broken them in yet, but they are by far the most comfortable shoe i've bought right out of the box! I will update when I get more time on them.

        Versatile!

        • Size Bought: 10
        • Height: 5'11"

I love the light weight yet bomber construction of these! I was really impressed with their comfort level with as bomber of a rock plate as it has. This shoe has awesome responsiveness and the lugs are pretty burly. I've even used them as a shoe during softball games because I don't want to be that guy who shows up in spikes looking to try out for the yankees when everyone else is just looking to crack a beer and have a good time. These shoes have awesome all around traction. I felt like I was wearing cleats out there. Two thumbs up!

        Light and supportive

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: Runs small
        • Size Bought: 8.0
        • Height: 5'5"

I have had the Nike Zoom Wildhorse shoes for awhile now and have had a good experience with them overall. On the plus side, they are super light. For the weight, you would think that they lack in support or protection for a true trail shoe. That is not the case here. They are well cushioned thanks to the EVA midsole and very breathable. On the negative side, they seem to be more low volume that even most other Nike shoes and feel about a quarter to half size smaller than their other products. I did get a bit more room in them after some break-in time, but if you have a higher volume foot or are in between sizes, definitely go up a half size in these. Overall, when sized correctly they will definitely be a shoe you reach for when you want to feel quick on the trail.

        Light and supportive

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
        • Fit: True to size

It is like wearing air! They feel very light on my feet. The sizing is true and the fit is great. I really like the support under foot and look forward to taking them up the trail!

        Not for me....

        • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
        • Fit: True to size

I took the shoe out of the box and was really happy with the weight and the tread looked mighty capable of handing the trails here in Utah. When I put them on I found out these shoes were just not for me. The arch support was in too much of a different position for me to even consider keeping these and trying them out. I have some pretty high arches so I'm not surprised they didn't work but I'll keep looking...

How wide is the toe box on these? Looking for something wider (altra-like?). I had the original version and loved them but have been dealing with toe issues lately and need a wider box. Normal Nike are narrow in the box. These appear wider. Thanks
