Equipped with perhaps the most innovative of Nike technologies, the Air Zoom Terra Kiger 4 Trail Running Shoe is here to re-energize your runs with springy, cushioned comfort, mainly thanks to the Zoom Air units in the midsole. Zoom Air is essentially a lightweight pressurized system with fibers in tension that give way when the foot makes contact with the ground for cushion, then snap energy back into the runner as they push off. This means that when you hit the trails in the Terra Kiger 4, you'll have a spring in your step that isn't solely attributable to your happiness of being out in nature.

Trails can be rough and laden with roots, rocks, and mud, and Nike prepared for just that situation. The top cap protects your feet from this particularly painful trail debris, while the waffle design of the sole with exaggerated lugs help you dig in with traction, even on wet surfaces. To keep your feet breathing as you tackle burly and steep terrain, the Flymesh upper allows air to flow through to keep you comfortable. For additional balance and support, Flywire cables work with your laces so you can get an exceptional secure fit when you hit the trails.

    • Lightweight running shoe that's built for the trails
    • 4mm drop provides a more natural, lower-impact landing
    • Flymesh upper offers both breathability and comfort
    • Foam midsole with Zoom Air returns energy with each step
    • Waffle design and exaggerated lugs give excellent traction
    • Top cap provides durable protection from trail debris
    • Flywire cables work with laces for support and balance

    Trail Runnerz

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great pair of shoes! I've been using them on several hikes and for trail training for my upcoming Ragnar. I love the high level of traction they provide - even when scrambling up slippery granite at Lisa Falls a few weeks ago they were able to keep me safe and stable.

    Good trail shoe

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Kigers offer great traction on slick trails and are very comfortable on long runs. They fit true to size so if you know your typical Nike size go with that! I hope to see Nike create a more minimalist trail running shoe as this shoe has too much support for me personally. If you want a good all around trail shoe these are a great choice!

    Falling apart after 16 months

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Update: I'm sad to say these shoes are falling apart after 16 months. For the price I expected them to last longer, especially since I only used them occasionally. The other day I kept thinking I had mulch or a rock in my shoe but it was the hard plastic poking through the fabric at the heel. I'm very disappointed as now they are useless and the hard plastic causes blisters.

Old review: Was so stoked to try out this shoe! I've never had Nikes before and wasn't sure what to expect. They do seem to run a little small, I'm a 7.5 and got an 8. It's almost perfect, maybe just the slightest bit too big. But I have wider feet so I wouldn't want to size down.

It took me a minute to get use to how light weight these were. I'm use to very cushiony Asics with a ton of support but that tends to translate to a very heavy shoe. I found that these have plenty of support but not as much cushion surrounding your whole foot. It's not a bad thing, just different. The bonus though is that they're so much more breathable than a heavier shoe and you won't feel like you're running with bricks strapped to your feet. They have very deep ridges so it might feel strange to wear them on a flat surface but they're so comfortable that I don't want to take them off!

    Perfect road + trail

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Just what my mom was looking for. A trail shoe that could handle winter road runs and occasional trail. Nice tread, not too stiff. Usually wears size 9 but always order larger in Nike.

    Best new trail shoe

Got these yesterday and ran 6.5 miles on the muddy trails today! I love these so far. Fit s perfectly in size 8 but usually wear size 7.5 shoes. These shoes are comfortable and light weight! Wish they still have my size in black 😁. No complaints and I love the color that I have now and I need another one in black!!!!

      Best new trail shoe

      New Favorite Running Shoe!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Out of the box these shoes have exceeded my expectations. They are my first pair of Nike's and won't be my last! I have a medium to high arch and my previous shoes didn't feel supportive enough. These are just the right amount of support without being too much. They are lightweight and also look great. Traction has been great in light snow/ice and loose dirt. I've also ran on pavement to get to my local trails and I've had no issues with shin splints. Fit feels true to size. I am usually a 7.5 in most shoes, sometimes an 8, and I bought an 8 and they feel great!

      Best new Shoe

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The Wife: I've been looking for a while to replace my old hiking shoes and haven't found anything I like... until these. Got them for Christmas and they fit like a glove! We hiked through some muddy/snowy terrain and they held up just fine, perfectly gripping the ground so I wouldn't fall.

      Exactly what I wanted

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I haven't bought myself a pair of running shoes in over 5 years because I usually only wear my hiking boots or rainbow sandals. I work in the backcountry warehouse where I walk miles each shift, so I needed a new pair and also wanted something to be able to hit the trails with for next season. These are exactly what I was looking for. I cannot give a review for how they are on the trail yet, but they are so light and comfortable for all the miles I'm walking around in the warehouse every day. Plus, I love the color (Tea berry/Pearl pink-port wine). I got a size 8 which is the same size my old pair of Nikes are. The first day I wore them, my toes were pinched/sore so I thought the size may have been off. But I've worn them for over a week since and never had that problem again, so maybe they just needed to be slightly worn in. Love them!

      Comfortable trail shoe

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought these for my girlfriend and she loves them. These not only look fantastic, the colors, the design, and the unique details, but they are also exactly what she needs for running trails. Nike seems to fit her slightly smaller than most shoes so she always orders a half size bigger when buying running/athletic shoes. She is eager to spend more time out on the trails and with the traction on the soles, she feels safe running on the wet and often slippery trails here in Oregon. She loves these shoes.

      Instant Comfort

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

I was looking for a lightweight minimal hiking shoe that still offered stability and comfort. These take the cake! I purchased several different brands and styles to compare before deciding and I I fell in love the instant I put these on! I received them a week before hiking in Colorado on vacation for 2.5 weeks and will now be choosing these as my regular running shoes as well! I highly recommend!

      Wifey loves

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Height: 5'9"
      • Weight: 170lbs

I bought these shoe for my wife and she wears them all the time. Super comfy with solid support. One of her favorite pairs of running she has every owned.

      Great Support & Lightweight

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs small

I am a (slower) trail runner but recently bought these to take on the tougher trail runs in Utah. I usually have to put a pair of insoles in to shoes to help with my high arches but it was not needed with these. They keep my feet supported while staying extremely light weight which is a MUST HAVE on trails. They are durable, and the grip is top notch. I have worn these at the Cirque Series Alta race and at Ragnar Lake Tahoe at the end of July so they already have 40+ miles on them in just a month but I will be buying another pair when these ones have worn out.

      Great shoe

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

I bought these for my sister to run in and get ready for the cross country season. She loves them. They have great cushioning with good flexibility and light weight. Making them comfortable and fun to run in! They have held up really well so far!
