It's designed primarily for trail running, yet it still excels on harsh asphalt surfaces with its Fresh Foam midsole dispersing impact from each stride.
The 6-millimeter drop strikes a nice balance between plush cushioning and a responsive feel underfoot, giving you the enough plushness to ward off fatigue, but without sacrificing much in ground feel or control. New Balance rounds it off with an All-Terrain rubber tread that's grippy enough for trail use, yet not overly aggressive, should you take it for a spin on the road.
