    Maverix Snowboard

p>Named after the legendary big-wave spot, the Never Summer Maverix Snowboard charges into battle with all-mountain versatility and cushy, cruising comfort. It starts with the new Fusion Rocker Camber, which puts rocker between your feet and camber underfoot to fuse float and forgiveness with pop, power, and edge hold. Extended transition zones at the main contact points make turn initiation effortless and help the board plane in powder with ease. A directional shape offers increased control and float when the sky refuses to stop dumping.

The board's Carbon Max Laminate technology adds torsional control to the tip and tail, giving the board extra snap and response when initiating turns without stiffening its midsection. Elastomeric Underfoot Stabilizers and the RDS 1 damping system absorb vibrations from bumpy terrain to fight off foot fatigue, while the Vario Power Grip sidecut blends multiple sidecut radii to hold an edge on the iciest of slopes. Add that all together with the super-strong yet lightweight core and an ultra-fast Durasurf sintered base, and you're ready to drop in to any terrain.

    Never Summer Maverix

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Maverix is one of the most fun boards I have ridden in a long time. I initially bought it to do some Backcountry snowboarding. What I didn’t realize was how good this board is on both untracked Backcountry slopes or groomers. I normally ride a Chairman at resorts, but took the Maverix out as a change of pace. The Maverix carves a completely different line than the Chairman, laying down surf like tracks. It just flows where the Chairman carves. The edge hold is phenomenal for a board with a turned up nose. This board is a quiver killer in my opinion. It really can do it all. I’m not a park guy, so can’t speak to that, but deep powder, to steep groomers, this board is great. All of the Shaper series boards have a fun, flowing style, and yet can really hold an edge. A+ all the way.

Amazing AM board that loves powder

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

After having a few Never Summer twin shaped boards I wanted to try something different from them. I've always felt like they do the best Rocker-Camber profile I've had the chance to ride.

This board is no exception, although made to carve hard it really excels in powder. Better than I'd expected. While fun enough for playing around on groomers and jibs it crushes the light fluff.

For sizing I was torn between the 2 sizes and opted for the larger for its performance off piste. The 157 was still super fun and really liked to hold an edge.

They both feel like 2 different boards, I love the 162.

I usually ride 160-180cm freeride boards.
