Why We Like The Dragonfly Tent

The Dragonfly Tent might not be the lightest shelter in Nemo's collection of backpacking tents, but we believe it is one of the most spacious for comfier camping. Its three-season versatility pairs a full mesh canopy with a removable rain fly to accommodate warm, summer evenings or cold, rainy, shoulder season weather.

The rain fly creates two large vestibules in front of the two zippered doors for added space and storage, while the single, hubbed DAC Featherlite NFL pole makes for a quick-and-easy setup. The Dragonfly has a light trail weight just under three pounds, and its small pack size certainly makes it an exceptional choice for backpacking.

Solid, comfy, and so light!

This is a solid product. I researched it a lot before purchase and am quite happy with it. The weight makes such a big difference! And it’s easy to set up, way more comfy than I though, and certainly worth it

Love it!

I have not only this tent, but the Hornet 1p and a whole mess of other Nemo gear, most notable of which is the Forte men's sleeping bag. All of this gear is superbly durable, incredibly lightweight, and super easy to set up! Anytime someone asks me what brand I recommend for a thing Nemo is usually my first recommendation because all of their products that I've used are without fail. Durability and packability are so reliable that there's no need to even try other things anymore! I couldn't be happier with all the equipment I've purchased from them! Oh and quick note. Camped in this tent and my Hornet in severe rain... Barely any condensation with the vents open and zero leaks in the fly!

Great backcountry tent

I've been backcountry camping for 30 years and have used many tents but this is my go to for most trips. Durable, quick setup, works great!

Roomy but light

I got this last summer, use it as my solo tent and love it. I like to have room inside to keep my backpack dry and be able to pack up while I'm still inside if needed. And it's so light I can get away with it. The zippers are light but nice, it's pretty easy to set up, comfortable for a medium-tall person. I shared it with my husband once and we kept our gear in the vestibules for that trip and it was snug but OK. Haven't had a big rainstorm yet, just showers, so I can't vouch for how it holds up in the wet. Was OK with wind once I staked it properly. Also, and this might not be meaningful to you, the colors are really good. I'm sensitive to ugly color combos and this one is very easy to look at.

Good tent

Bought this to replace the Obi I wore out. Not sure if it is as good as Obi but is working for me now.

Almost perfect

I’ve now had this tent for just cover a year. I mostly use it solo but because it’s a two person it’s also great for when I take my 11 year old. It’s light and super easy to set up. Two little things that could make it better. 1 I wish I could pop up the rain fly without the inner, and 2 at the head of the tent the fly only comes halfway down leaving the inner exposed to the elements. I’m sure it was for weight savings but that little extra material would be nice on wet days.

Love at first pitch

I decided to switch things up from my UL DCF shelter and purchase this tent for the extra room to maneuver within. Ultimately I added approx. 1lb to my base weight, but I’m not complaining in the least. I love this tent! It’s incredibly simple to set up and takedown. My first overnight saw some fairly strong winds and this held up extremely well. Couldn’t be more happy with my decision!

Light, durable and fast setup

This is one of my favorite tents. It seems to be very durable, very easy to setup and it’s lightweight. I would add a few extra stakes to your setup just in case.

Great Light Backpacking Tent

I bought this to replace an old Kelly tent that had started falling apart. The Dragonfly is lightweight and easy to setup with color coding on the poles and their attachments. Space wise I'm 6'2" and there is plenty of room for me to lay down without feeling cramped. One of the nicest things for me is the storage loft which really helps me stay organized. The only issue I had was with some stitching on the rainfly. I used some tent repair adhesive to stick it down and that seems to have done the trick pretty easily. One additional note is that I would suggest buying the footprint if you plan on using this in the rain. You can get the fly and poles setup with the footprint and then get the tent body squared away. This is an easy way to keep yourself and your stuff dry. You could probably accomplish the same thing with some plastic sheeting and grommets but this is a ready made solution.
