Whether or not you choose to conquer its namesake is up to you, but the NEMO Chogori 3-Person 4-Season Tent is built for rugged winter camping, burly mountaineering expeditions, and absolute savages. The unique nature of its silicone-treated fabric doesn't require seam tape, increasing overall durability so you're safe and sound from fierce winds and driving snows, and if said blizzard should chance upon you earlier than expected, the Chogori's external pole structure saves you valuable set-up time. This works because the fly is integrated with the tent, increasing structural integrity and reducing weight at the same time.

Stakes and guy-out cord ensure a strong set-up at basecamp, with an included repair kit in case events don't go as planned. The double vestibules offer plenty of space for your gear, because it also needs shelter from the storm, and an included UVX window lets you watch the tempest rage outside while you're warm and dry, sipping tea with your crew. You can even make it a party if you're hiking with another Chogori-equippped crew—two of these bad boys can be linked together to create a larger, tunnel-connected shelter, and two top ventilation points on each tent keep things from getting too musty.

    • Burly four-season tent for mountaineering pursuits
    • Silicone-treated fabrics provide durable, waterproof protection
    • Generous vestibule space protects your gear from mother nature
    • External poles promote faster set-up in extreme weather
    • Integrated fly reduces weight and speeds up the set-up
    • Ventilation points keep interior condensation to a minimum
    • Two Chogori tents can be linked together for a larger shelter

    Initial impressions

Bought for a 7000m attempt. Weight of the tent as packed, 3.81kg, so pretty accurate. Came with two other smaller dry bags, one containing 11 tent pegs and guy lines, the other for the 5 poles (4 poles of the same length, 1 pole pre-bent for the vestibule).

Yet to be used outdoors, but initial testing of setup was pretty straightforward in the living room; spread out the tent, fit corner poles x2, then middle poles x 2 (one set of sleeves colour coded red, the other grey), and finally the pre-bent vestibule pole. The vestibule has to be staked out, but other than that the rest of the tent is free standing.

Won't be used till august, so plenty of time to practise setting up...

Not sure what "included repair kit" means, but there was a very short (3-4 inches?) fat'ish tube included in the dry bag with the 5 poles, perhaps that's used in case a pole breaks, and you have to use like you would a splint?
