Lighter than ever, and warm too.

Nemo Equipment added a layer of PrimaLoft insulation to its Astro Insulated Lite Sleeping Pad, and it's still lighter than the original Astro, so all you minimalist backpackers out there can still sleep warmly in colder temps. And the designers at Nemo were able to make it a half-inch thicker than the standard Astro in order to ensure you don't feel the ground while you sleep—and it yet still packs down smaller than the original Astro. This amazing design is due to the 20D PU polyester ripstop fabric that holds strong welds without wasting an ounce. The lateral baffles prevent the sides from curving around your body uncomfortably. This pad comes with a stuff sack to keep this pad compact in your pack.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had a very mixed relationship with inflatable pads. However, this one broke the mold and has me unforgivingly over the moon. In the past, I've had issues with durability, noise, and inflation failure galore. It feels like I've been looking for so long for this piece of gear, now that I have it I'm beyond ecstatic. I really enjoy the loft of this piece of equipment. I've used it in a variety of conditions and have always been impressed with it. I have occasionally underinflated it and still had an amazing nights sleep. I've used it car camping, backpacking, on the side of a lake, as a lake floaty as well as many other uses. I opted for the larger 25L and I always feel like have an enormous amount of space, I sometimes feel bad for my girlfriend because her pad seems so small in comparison. I'm always blown away when the 25L pad fits into the sack, but not once have I had issues getting it to fit. It's lightweight both packed and inflated. I've laid out for naps in the grass and on smooth dirt and never had any inflation issues. It comes with a handy patch pack, that's attached to the stuff sack (I haven't had to use it but is a great reassurance). Thanks to this pad I've left behind foam pads forever and I'm sleeping so much better, staying warmer and generally happier to have decreased the size of my packed items. No doubt about it this is a stunner of a pad.

My husband and I looked around at several insulated and light pads and found these. We use quilts when backpacking and needed something with a bit of insulation under our bums. These are light, don't make too much noise underneath you and the lateral baffles are great. The 3in thickness is awesome!

Best sleep I’ve ever had camping!

Great sleeping pad! I can sleep on my sides, my back, my stomach and I feel like I’m back home in my bed! So comfy. It’s inflated in just a minute or so and it packs down to a tiny size. If you want comfort and pack-ability Nemo is the way to go. The top baffle is even a little bigger so there is a nice little built in pillow for your head. I can’t say enough great things about Nemo..... seriously so comfy.

      Great pad!

Loved this pad. Plenty of comfort to sleep on my side without bringing an extra pillow or using a sweatshirt. The bottom held up without anything underneath while sleeping on rocks, bare ground and questionable wooden floors of 19th century outposts in new mexico. Only reason it has 4 stars is because mine has a bad valve. Stays inflated long enough to fall asleep but was flat when I woke up. Still worked for 15 days straight after it happened so clearly not a massive failure.

How was the noise level when moving around in the night? Does it make that awful crinkle noise like a lot of lightweight air pads do? Also, how slippery was it? I also find myself slipping off lightweight pads in the night. Trying to find one that doesn't have these 2 issues. Thanks!
