New to hydration vests; not impressed

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is the first hydration vest I've ever run with and I'm not very happy with the experience. Not sure how this vest stacks up to other vests, but this one in particular: needs frequent adjustment/has too much bounce, front pockets are too delicate and will rip, doesn't fit on smaller frames well, there's no manufactured hole for the liquid pouch tubing to exit the cloth vest so you have to leave the top zipper unzipped. Liquid pouch is relatively easy to fill and clean; bite valve seems to be a little finicky, but generally works; no major problems with chafing. I like the extra pockets and compartments in this bag and the front pockets are handy (but flimsy). This is a good size (2L) for 20-25 mile runs in Florida in early morning or late afternoon. For the price, this should have a better design.

    Great Pack

If you are going out on long runs in the backcountry, I cannot speak more highly of this pack. Once it’s on your back, you don’t know it’s there. It carries the perfect amount of water with space for essential food, wallet, phone. Another great Nathan product.

      Good hydration bag

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

This one was for my sister. She likes to run and this one is a great fit for her; she has use it a couple of times and is satisfied with it

      Comfortable

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this Nathan running vest to replace a Camelbak that moved around on my back too much. The vest is a great fit on my short torso - other vests can get too long and push down the waistband of my shorts. It hugs nicely, does not move or loosen over the miles. Lots of storage, yet lightweight. Easy in and out access with the bladder. The one design flaw I find is that the pack doesn't have a hole to feed the tube through so it lays easily over the shoulder. The tube comes right out of the zippered top part and bows out in an untenable manner. Had to tie it down to the chest strap with a rubber and to keep it from flapping around.
