Good design details

This is a durable bag with many details that allow certain degrees of customization. The canvas attracts dust that is so visible on the black color. I would suggest to update the shape in future versions so it can fit a 15” laptop to be more versatile. The current design won’t close when the 15” laptop is in there.

Best bag ever

Seriously such a great bag for scrambling, fits approach shoes, water bottle, keys, phone, harness, snacks—all that you need for a day trip! The reinforced back pad fits flush against my back and the padded straps keep it snug on my body. Would for sure buy another one.

Fun little bag

I bought this for climbing but have ended up using it as a patrol pack(I’m a park ranger). It was a bit small for fitting a rack/shoes/harness in but its great for scrambling through talus and bushwhacking. I like it’s simple feature set and how durable it feels. It was quite stiff when brand new but it’s getting more comfortable as it breaks in. I’ve even now used it on a fire. It carried a gallon of water, fuel tank, bar oil and chaps pretty nicely. The shoulder straps could be a bit wider but that’s my only complaint. I bought the 23 liter version and that is just the right size for climbing.

This is my favorite bag

I bought this about a month ago and have been loving it. I know this is a bag designed for climbing, but it works great as a daily bag. Not too many bells and whistles, but definitely enough features to satisfy anyone on the hunt for a great bag.

shoulder straps and rope strap

I currently own the petzl bug, but I really love my Mystery Ranch 47, so I decided to purchase this to replace the bug. I ended up returning this for two reasons: 1. this is the major reason. the rope straps should be longer and a bit wider, and I really wasn't a fan of the buckle. I think the buckle on the petzl bug is much easier to cliip and unclip. 2. the shoulder straps seems comfortable, but the wider straps of the bug seem more comfortable even though they have less padding. With that said, this pack looks way cooler than the petzl bug and if it the rope strap were a little easier to use, then this pack would beat the bug for sure, since it could be a fashionably daily bag. It is a bit heavier than the bug, but the material is way more durable.

Tight Package, Feels Sturdy, Great Mobility

I work in the field, and needed something small and sturdy to carry a small laptop, water, batteries, and light field gear. I've used the Skyline 17 twice now for longer than 3 day field events. This pack traveled well on the airplane, with easy to nap quick stow front pocket, came right into the field and handled the trees, mud, and some rain well. Not waterproof but I didn't need that. Felt comfortable wearing the pack for extended periods, no weird shoulder or side rub. I'm 6'3" 220lbs. Loved how small this pack is. Contours my back well. I could slide under fallen trees and through tight spaces no problem. Great 24 hour pack.

Simple and works

Very simple yet well thought out design. Only two pockets, one main compartment and one outside. I’ve been using for gym, beach, short excursions, etc. only time I don’t use is for work...it’s well built but not padded like UA24 so if you want to bring a laptop or tablet be sure add protective insert. All of attachment points do come off to streamline further. I kinda wish it has space mesh on back but I’m sure that would add weight and could get snugged. Overall this is really awesome pack!

Everything is great as expected

Great size needed something to keep electronics and emergency kit that would fit in a small compartment in vehicle. I’ve owned mystery ranch for 9 years same great quality. Really happy with this purchase.

My new favorite daypack for the mountains-

Bought this about a month ago. Very impressed with the build quality and what it will magically swallow. I love that you can strip off all the compression straps & tool/pole attachments- Pros: -Compact form factor but ample volume. -Burly build quality. I get a chub when I see seams & stress points quadruple+ stitched or bar-tacked. I'll take the extra ounces for some material that holds-up to the gnar. -Flexible foam (But just firm enough-) back panel. No HDPE plastic, aluminum stays or bulky adjustable yolks. The gods be praised. -Strippable compression/attachment points. Cons: -Padded portion of the shoulder straps are on the short side (Could be 1.5-2 inches longer IMHO-) at least for the US market. -Would be cool if the bottom seam of the front stash pocket was sew into the angled seam on the front of the pack to add a bit more volume to the pocket-
