Out-Freaking-Standing

Bought this to compliment my Coulee 25. This pack is perfect size for 3 season overnighters or remote days or winter hikes. Will hold more than you think and carry it with ease. Carried about 35lbs over 4 peaks, 21mi and 5,000ft. I've had many packs in the 20 years I've been backpacking and this is the first one that felt part of me. First time out and not a single hot spot or "I wish there was 'X' on this pack". Excellent work MR!

Perfect fit

This is the first and only backpacking bag I have ever owned. I purchased this bag about 5 years ago as a new return at a local outdoor supplier. The guy who bought it realized it was too small for his needs so it was listed 40% off as it had only been used once. I promptly purchased it and am so glad I did. I used this bag on my honeymoon for an overnighter at Joffre Lakes Provincial Park, numerous other camping excursions, and most recently it has been my motorcycle camping bag that I toss on the back of my bike. It is an extremely comfortable bag, easy to dial in exactly to your liking. I’ve carried upwards of 45lbs without any issues or discomfort from the bag. The numerous pockets and the zip system are both great as well. I will honestly probably never purchase another bag until this one craps out, if it ever does. When that happens, I’ll be buying another Ravine 50.

Excellent backpack

The Ravine 50 is a sturdy pack capable of being a larger daypack but also handles overnight trips. Comfortable from the start. Love the large zipper for pulling out gear down on the bottom.

Excellent Multi-Day Pack

I was introduced to Mystery Ranch through my time in the Military. Ever since I received my first MR pack, I have continuously utilized them in my personal life. If you are familiar with MR’s military packs, the term heavy duty is true in terms of material and weight of the bag. This formula makes for long lasting bags, but makes ounce counting backpackers cringe. The Ravine 50 is different in that is uses tried and true MR design, tri-zip and layout, but it blends lightweight materials better suited for backpacking. Every detail, from zipper pull cords, buckles, and zipper pull assist tabs are put together for a in a high quality lightweight package. All that being said, this is now my favorite pack in the gear closet, but if you are looking for the lightest weight pack in the market, this is not for you. If you want a well built, light weight, but still very durable bag, I would whole heartedly recommend this a pack. I just spent five days on trail with this bag, and it performed as advertised straight out of the box. The Ravine is full adjustable, durable, comfortable, and quiet during use. Awesome pack! Thanks for building awesome products Mystery Ranch!

Well Thought out Design, Quality Material

I’ve only had the opportunity to take it out on a single weekend backpacking trip, but I really like it so far. I was looking for a smaller backpacking backpack for (What for it). . . Backpacking ! My gear keeps getting smaller and smaller, as the industry trends towards, “Ultralight”. I wanted something besides my larger 65 & 75 Liter packs that could hold all my gear, and still be a framed pack. I’ve had a few of Mystery Ranch’s Military/Hunting style packs, which are excellent. But I wanted to try their backpacking packs. The Ravine 50 did not disappoint ! I actually loaded it down with more weight intentionally just to test it out. It was still extremely comfortable and did not seem heavy at all. In truth, I originally wanted the Terraplane TriZip 50L. But there are no more Loden colored size Larges available again until the summer. I’m glad I got the Ravine even though I’ll probably end up buying the Terraplane TriZip 50L when it becomes available. Excellent pack layout. Easy to access everything I need !

Great compromise between day bag and ruck

Sturdy construction, I like the more rigid zippers and buckles versus other brands. It works well as a mix between a larger day pack and a smaller rucksack. Perfect for traveling or medium length excursions.

Great for trail work

I work on a trail crew and have used this as a daypack for two seasons now. 50 Liters is the perfect size for trail crew work IMO. Big enough that no matter the weather I have plenty of room for all my layers plus a groupsize FAK, radio, and even a pick head. Torpedo pockets are great for fuel cigs when chainsawing. I've had other brand packs that felt like after a season they have some dents and scars. Not this pack - feels like it will last forever. A few more straps on the outside could make carrying tools on your pack easier, but its still doable.

Proven for Adventure

I was so excited to test out my new Mystery Ranch! My good friend swore by the brand and said I would be very happy with a purchase and I was pleased to find out that it has everything I wanted and some! The flexible fit of the pack is really nice, not to mention all the bare bone pack features that make it easy to access all the essentials you have in your pack. When you are out there tracking and tired you want a pack that is easy to use and easy to access your items. I loved how compact you can make the pack once your items are in there. All the straps make it easy to clamp down and get to a comfortable size that is right for you. I really admire the quality and time that went in to the creation of this pack! If you haven’t experienced the power of the Mystery, I think you need to go out and test out a pack for yourself. There are multiple sizes and styles that they provide for all your everyday adventures!

Excellent Pack

I bought this pack about a month ago cause I needed a pack that I could use for short mountaineering trips and for weekend Backpacking trip. This pack was great for both. I was able to put my sleep system, clothes, food, and cook kit with plenty of room for all the little stuff. I like the torpedo pockets for the ease of access to my water filter and bathroom bag. The pack was really easy to adjust and was able to fit it with the online tutorial. For mountaineering I was able strap on my ice axe helmet and crampons on the out side. I like the zipper system on the outside to be able to get to everything easily. I am glad that I went with this pack and it will last me for a long time. The only reason for the 4 star review was that the zippers are a little tight to zip and the straps to adjust the load on your back are stiff. I know it will take time to break them in.
