Duo on Aconcagua

Used on Aconcagua with 3 nights at 20k for a great Summit. Efficient and effective for boiling water from glacial run off. With only snow available above 20k, would have preferred an XGK. Went through gas very quickly at those temps and at altitude. Preformed very well for 3 overall. Would take again. Packs up great, but ensure you pad stove and canister tightly in pot before transport on mules or airplane, titanium pot is naturally soft and will bend and scratch easily. Low profile was great in the winds with confined space use.

Works great

This stove system does a terrific job. It’s very well made boils super fast in all conditions and doesn’t use much fuel in the process. Ya it’s a little on the heavy side so if you’re wanting to go ultra light you’ll probably consider something else.

It’s a great product. Quality

It’s a great product. Quality construction and ease of use. I feel like its to big for just a one person hunting trip. But it did the job it was intended to do. I would recommend this to anyone that needs a portable stove.

Great Product

Base was very sturdy and folded up very compact. Boils water very fast compared to my 30 yo whisperlite.

Perfect size for 2 person

Perfect size for 2 person climbing system or a luxurious sea kayaking setup for 1-2 people. Much more stable for bigger pots and use of the frying pan. Also nice to accommodate a larger fuel canister in the pot. I regularly make Quesadillas and sautay veggies and sausage with this system or fit a few boil in the bags in the pot.

Great stove but with some flaws.

There's a lot to love about my Windburner Duo. It's incredibly fast and efficient, especially in the wind and it's a perfect size for two people. And unlike the personal, the stove sits on the ground so the pot doesn't sit nearly as tall. As a bonus, the stove fits perfectly inside the personal pot so you can buy that separately if you want a system which will cater to both the solo and group user. My main gripe has to do with the bowl. The bowl is useful but from time to time, it seems to get stuck on the bottom of the pot. When this happens, I'm forced to spend a few minutes fiddling around before it comes off. My other complaint is with the plastic lid in that its never able to pour water without dribbling down the side. I make sure to always seal the lid but I always lose around 1/10th of my water as it gets diverted to the ground.

Boils in a blink of an eye

Took this camping with a group. Water was boiled before other stoves were even done setting up. Impressive!

Bigger Pot for Windburner Group System

We have purchased several Windburner Group Cooking Systems for use on Sierra Club National Outings backpack trips in the Rocky Mountain Region. The performance, efficiency, reliability, and ease of use is a whole new level for group cooking. The one issue we have is that the 4.5 L pot isn't quite big enough for group size greater than 8-10 or so, and we often run trips with 12 to 15 total people including leaders. Having a 6.5 L pot would make this truly a group cooking system. Just make a taller version of the 4.5L pot. - chair, Rocky Mountain Subcommittee, Sierra Club National Outings
