Wind is a guarantee when you're in the mountains, and if you've ever tried to boil above treeline, then you know the pain of cooking in the wind. By taking MSR's fuel efficient Reactor stove system and enclosing it in a windproof sleeve, the WindBurner Stove System boils water quickly in winds up to 12 miles per hour. Not only does it make our lives easier in the backcountry, but it saves fuel on those longer trips where every ounce of weight must be carefully considered.

Positive Test
I’ve only tested it in the yard. Wow, it really does boil fast. I love the fact that I can safely handle it immediately after boil.

Love this stove
The wind block collar adds a bit to the weight but is more than worth it. Works great on windy nights. Best stove I've ever had. Cup locks into place so it's stable and heats up very fast. Heats 1 cup of water for me with 100 g fuel so I get 10-13 meals from one small cannister.

So fast!
This stove boils water in about half the time of its well known competitor! On my latest SAR/MRT snow and ice training everyone was borrowing it instead of using their own.

MSR Windburner
I bought a windburner and have nothing but problems. The gas won’t run. It’s like the burner is blocked. I got one good use out of it and not it’s just an expensive decoration. I tried the fix on YouTube regarding the legs trying to reset the burner. No good. It was in warranty when it happened but I never got the chance to drive back up to them as they area 2 hour round trip.

6+ stars!
This burner is absolute Best-In-The-World! I can light the fire in all weather, from summer to deep winter. Just a kindly wish from here: Make it a little lighter, and no system will be able to compete with this burner!

Wind burner personal stove
I love this compact easy to operate stove. I used it on a recent canoe trip and was impressed at the speed I could boil water. I did have a water filter breakdown and had to rely on the stove for boiling water and the unit was effective as well as efficient to use. It’s a very smart design easy to set up, stable and easy to light. The wire helps knowing that the unit is lit on startup.

Great System with only Minor Flaws
A great 3-season backcountry stove overall. The lid fitment requires a little extra persuasion most of the time. Additionally, the outside of the burner area will corrode if there is any moisture on the fuel canister when repacked on the trail (picture is after cumulative 30 days of use over 3 months).

Great system until it isn't
I have thoroughly enjoyed my windburner kit. And has traveled with me all across the country. However, it's stopped working for reasons unknown, and unlike a lot of other MSR stoves, there is no maintenance kit for this that I can find.
