Excellent tools

Probably shouldn't write this as I didn't buy the whole kit, but I bought each piece and assemble the same kit over time. Everything works great and has held up for years of camping. I ended up with the deluxe cutting board, because it is wider (about twice as wide), but often used it in the closed position. I also have the alpine strainer, which works extremely well with veges and noodles. I also added the Alpine dish brush/scraper which comes in the larger MSR Alpine Deluxe Kitchen set. I carry my own knife, which has a cork screw, so this works great for me. If I was buying again, it would be this set.

Super convenient

Tidy, convenient, and perfect for backpacking in. The utensils are very light weight so you won't be able to pry heavy things around in the pan with them but I had no trouble moving ground elk around in the pan and flipping trout. Saw some other reviews about them melting and not being strong but I strongly think that was user error. They're plastic so yeah, they will melt if you get them too hot. It's science. But if you don't expose them to high heat for long periods of time they work just fine.

I am purchasing another one for myself.

Great solo kit for backcountry adventures, quick shore lunches when fishing. Always in the car and ready for adventure. Bought it for my son.

Excellent addition

Excellent camp kitchen set. Super light weight. Doesn't damage the no stick coating on my pans. Easy to clean. Very pleased.

Melt, only for cold or warm temperature

First time I used it, it melt. You can only use it on warm or cold temperature. We contact the companie and they do not want to help us. Next time, I will buy one made of sylicon, not nylon!

excellent kit.

It's well put together and works very well. Enough extra space in the bag for extra spices and kitchen tools.

Unimpressed - Does the Job

First use saw the spatula melt/disform [on the first pancake!!!] while making pancakes in Southeast alaska on an Alpine SS frying pan. Wouldn't recommend and definitely would never use again. Went into the trash when we got home. Why not make a small metal spatula for the stainless steel/titanium pans/cast iron users out there? Ultimately not very stable. While the collapsible handles make folding a breeze the handles themselves are not very sturdy. This leads any normal cook to hold the device closer to the head which inadvertently squeezes the handle causing it to release. The strainer is beyond pointless, why not use a lid, ladle or spatula and save the extra weight? Further it is not sturdy, nor large enough, to withstand pasta for three people. Spice shaker holds enough spice for 1-2 meals for 1-2 people. Beyond that it's outmatched. Cutting board was fantastic to have along however I will be modifying it to fit inside one of my pot lids to: give it support, have some sort of a lip to hold things when they go flying off after you've cut them. We used them almost exclusively for cutting carrots and while it shows knife marks I would expect that.

Light and Easy

Minimalist set for those looking to keep it simple and quick. If you're not too picky about condiments and toppings, seasonings and salts...then this set is for you. The spatula and spoon are two simple, yet crucial elements of any cookset, and the durability of the two in this set is awesome. They are both light, yet rigid and do their job with ease. Great value as well. Recommend for quick travelers who are traveling solo.
