The pot rusts easily

I've used it several times

I bought this product about a year ago at the recommendation of a Gearhead while I was planning a backpacking trip and have done what I can to take good care of it. I rinse food/liquids out of the pots, bowls, and cups while I am on the trail and am quick to clean it by hand washing using gentle dish soap and a soft sponge so as not to scratch anything. I would also make sure it dried properly before packing it back up. I have no complaints about the stove, bowls, or cups, though the sporks themselves are quite flimsy. If you are cooking anything on the thicker side, you'll likely want to use something other than these sporks to mix ingredients. However, after returning from my most recent backpacking trip, I noticed that a significant amount of rust had built up on the bottom of the pot. I recognize that I have had this product for a little over a year now without issues, but I feel that it should have lasted much longer than this to be worth $100 purchase at full price.

Worth Its Weight

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Unnecessary for one, but for most of us we're not heading out solo, so do the other a solid and carry a little extra weight so they don't have to. Everything packs down into the pot and fits perfectly in your pack. Comes with everything you need, except the delicious meal, that's on you.

Light, Compact, and Efficient

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The MSR Pocket Rocket is a tidy little cook set. It contains everything necessary for the basics of boiling water for coffee, bowls and sporks for cereal or pasta and mugs for beverages. It's ultralight. That said, the pot supports seem a little flimsy so be sure to pay attention while setting cookware on top. A good setup for minimalist adventures.

Perfect for Two

I've put it through the wringer

This little mess kit is awesome for backpacking trips because it hardly adds any weight to my pack. This kit is perfect for couples, it's got everything needed for a tasty meal after a long day on the trail.

Must Have - Camping Kit

I've put it through the wringer

Bowls and utensils are plenty study for the task, Pocket Rocket is super compact and provides a big enough base for most pots (and some pans), and the kit organizes well. If you already carry a mug or bottle, you can store fuel canisters in place of the two mugs inside the self locking pot.

My Backpacking Essential

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've only used this twice so far this season but after a long day of backpacking, this is exactly the setup I need. Works great for two people and it hardly adds any weight to my pack! It's small and compact so it doesn't take up much space plus I love that it comes with 2 folding sporks.

Perfect Backcountry Kit for Couples

I've used it several times

This kit is perfect if you and your significant other want to go on a backcountry camping trip! Or if you and a buddy want to go on a camping trip, either way its a fantastic kit! The pocket rocket works like a champ, the pot is just the right size, not too small but not too heavy. Insulated mugs are a great bonus, and the whole kit fits in the cooking pot!! Saving space is huge for the backcountry as well so this is a no brainer if you need a kit for 2!

Does the kit come with the stove?
