Mutha Hubba NX Tent
Take to the trail with a friend or two in the backpacking-friendly MSR Mutha Hubba NX 3-Person 3-Season Tent. This beautifully breezy portable palace offers ample room for you and two friends, features a newly redesigned floor plan that gives you and your mates plenty of room to stretch out, catch some shuteye, and get ready for another long day of adventuring ahead.
The bathtub-style ripstop nylon floor of the Mutha Hubba rises up along the sides of the walls to save your sweet dreams from fat raindrops and splattering mud. A weather-resistant Xtreme coating stops rivulets of rain from streaming into the tent, and the inner canopy combines mesh panels with lightweight nylon for cross-tent ventilation.
The Mutha Hubba NX takes an innovative approach to the rainfly-vestibule interaction, too. Instead of a center zip, you get into the vestibule (and tent) via a side zip on the fly. The zipper is tucked beneath a rain gutter so you can come and go as you please without exposing your tentmates to a deluge, and two vestibule-covered doors mean easy access to an after-dark bathroom break. Both vestibules allow you to roll up the edges of the fly and guy them out to let an fresh wind sneak inside, and vents at both ends of the tent, plus the side doors, mean you can get air from every directions.

At 6'3 I fit perfectly in this tent, but it might be a little snug if you're a couple inches taller. My partner, dog and I went camping with it for the first time this weekend. Fit all of us comfortably with a little room to spare. Love the pocket lined walls, was easy to set up, and stayed warm in <20 degree windy weather.

Spacious, well designed, easy setup

I went car camping with this tent this weekend. It's the first time I take it on a trip, so I wanted to test it out before I take it backpacking. The material seems durable, within reason. Setup is easy. I've never set up a backpacking tent before (true story) and was able to set this one up in the dark, at 31 deg F. (after watching the video online once or twice at home). It's definitely roomy, and the headspace is nice. I was able to hang a small lantern to an inside loop that is conveniently sewn in the center. The included stakes are very basic and had trouble staying put on the kind of terrain where I was. Luckily, at someone's recommendation, I had picked up 4 MSR Groundhogs, and those worked much better. I bought the tent primarily for 2 people and I am confident that I can fit an extra person in there comfortably, but I like having the extra space to move around. Overall, I am very happy with this tent, so far. I will definitely post an update if anything changes, but it doesn't seem like that will be the case.

I can't tell if this is the new redesigned 2019 version of the Mutha Hubba, or if this is the older version that has condensation problems where the rainfly touches the tent body in two places. https://www.backcountry.com/msr-mutha-hubba-nx-tent-3-person-3-season?skid=CAS00F8-RD-ONESIZ&ti=U2VhcmNoIFJlc3VsdHM6bXV0aGEgaHViYmEgMjAxOToxOjE6bXV0aGEgaHViYmEgMjAxOQ==
