Love MSR!

I've put it through the wringer

These were for the wife but the same design for the men's basically...I have used various snowshoes from MSR over the years. The great thing with these is they keep them simple, keep what works, but add small updates as needed. These are lightweight, bombproof, functional, and all-around great options. Very comfy and the bindings work great!

I've used it several times

I upgraded to these MSR Lightning Explore Snowshoes before my last 5-day trip. We went hiking for about five hours a day with snowshoes. They worked as expected which is great! I pretty much walked my normal stride in the snow - which was a great improvement than my last pair of snowshoes where I felt more like I was straddling the trail. I did not get to try the televators going up hill yet, but I have no doubts it will make that future trek more fun to tackle. The improved bindings were also great. My husband has an older MSR model and was a bit jealous (in a good way) that I was able hop in and out of my snowshoes faster than him. As MSR builds so well, he may just have to buy a new pair over waiting for his to fail.

22in Shoes with the tails!

I've used it several times

We purchased the 22in snowshoes with the additional 5in tails. I have to say it was the best move we made! Most of the time we are hard pack snow so it acts a large crampon on the foot. The biggest difference I find compared to friends that had snow shoes on was going down hill. Very secure underfoot thanks to the teeth that run down the side of the snowshoe. I felt like we had solid traction where ever we went. Other people in the group if they leaned back on their heels would slide down and they were just not as secure. In times that we would venture into deeper snow we pack our tails and easily attach them to give us the extra float we needed. Need help for sizing snowshoes this is a great resource I use a lot of time to help out customers. http://www.aspdotnetstorefront.cascadedesigns.com/msr/snowshoes-selection-guide?_ga=2.215422935.1338164224.1503685490-640530888.1503685490

You get what you pay for.

Super solid construction, (which means a little on the heavy side) but these aren’t intended to feel like flimsy plastic.
