    Love MSR!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have used various snowshoes from MSR over the years. The great thing with these is they keep them simple, keep what works, but add small updates as needed. These are lightweight, bombproof, functional, and all-around great options. Very comfy and the bindings work great!

    Learn about Lightning Explore Snowshoe!

    22in Shoes with the Tails

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

We purchased the 22in snowshoes with the additional 5in tails. I have to say it was the best move we made! Most of the time we are hard pack snow so it acts a large crampon on the foot. The biggest difference I find compared to friends that had snow shoes on was going down hill. Very secure underfoot thanks to the teeth that run down the side of the snowshoe. I felt like we had solid traction where ever we went. Other people in the group if they leaned back on their heels would slide down and they were just not as secure. In times that we would venture into deeper snow we pack our tails and easily attach them to give us the extra float we needed.

Need help for sizing snowshoes this is a great resource I use a lot of time to help out customers.

    Awesome Shoes

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great traction, heel lift really helps on steep uphills. 25cm worked fine for me, 5’8”&155#. Single strap in front can apply too much pressure but just loosen it a little and it is fine (shoes do not move at all). Highly recommended.

Big Peaks and Long Walks in the Pow

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Two seasons on these, winter peak bagging in the Rockies, snowy morning walks, light enough to jog with, large enough to carry weight. The Hyperlink bindings are a breeze to doff and don. The Televators on the heel make short work of ascents and really save the calves. The very best of quality in MSR. These are a no fail choice.
