    Explore the backcountry in comfort.

Don't miss out on your next trek through a winter wonderland due to improper footwear. Throw the Women's Lightning Ascent Snowshoes on your boots and stride through the snow with confidence. The decks are made from durable ballistic nylon to make sure they're tough enough to handle just about anything. 360-degree traction frames ensure a solid grip on any surface, while the Torsion2 crampons combine to offer stability on steep, sideways, or flat terrain. PosiLock AT bindings are an excellent blend of stability and support, and the Ergo Televator heel risers prevent your calves from cramping up during extended periods of uphill traffic. If the snow gods see fit to reward you with a foot of fluffy goodness, throw the modular flotation tails on the back (flotation tails sold separately) for extra float, especially when using a heavy pack.

    • Explore snow-covered mountains with these snowshoes
    • 360-degree traction rails ensure purchase on slick trails
    • Integrated crampons provide additional bite on ice
    • Heel risers help reduce leg strain during long climbs
    • Modular flotation tails (sold separate) can be attached for additional lift in deep powder

    Fantastic Snowshoe

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This snowshoe is built like a tank and also fairly lightweight. We also purchased the extensions, which are easy to put on and take off. They have tread that runs along the full length of the shoe. The shoe width is perfect for tight trail. Probably best for semi-packed snow, they are a little slim for super deep trail breaking.

    Learn about Lightening Ascent Snowshoe!

Our ultralight snowshoes are built on a solid foundation of our advanced 360° Traction™ frames and deliver a level of security that tubular frames simply can’t—especially on traverses. Dual-component PosiLock™ AT bindings offer our most secure attachment, while rugged decking ensures long-lasting durability. In technical terrain, the snowshoes’ steel cross members and easily engaged Ergo™ Televators back you up with every step. And like all of our snowshoes, Lightning Ascents offer the all-condition adaptability of our Modular Flotation tails.

    Love it.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Snowshoes are lightweight and super comfortable. All the straps stay tight and they are a tough plastic that works great especially when everything is frozen. They are super easy to take on and off and you can do it while still wearing your gloves. The heal raise comes in handy during steep sections too. Definitely, recommend for any snowshoe trip.

    Love it.

    Light weight easy to use

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These are wonderful. This is my first year hiking elevation in snow and I was recommended these. I cant believe how simple and easy they are to use. So glad I have them. The customer service is outstanding here also. So helpful, I am 110% happy with my purchase and the company. Thank you.

    Lightweight snowshoes!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have snowshoed several times while marking timber for my forestry job in snowshoes that were not made tough enough to withstand that kind of movement. The rivots broke within the first 3 months. They were a Black Friday sale snowshoe. I knew if I wanted a decent pair that would last me for trail purpose only that I would have to fork out the dough. I really enjoy using the Women's MSR Lightening Acent snowshoes. They are narrow and ultralight. I find that they are really simple to take on and off even though there are 4 straps. My feet felt very secure and stayed within the center of the shoe. Other snowshoes my boots would wonder to the inside of the shoe and I would end up placing my foot on the outside metal frame. The MSR has traction all around the frame which is great for slopes and going up and down hills, also has the lift under the heal for even easier climbs up the hill(have not used it yet). I love that they are narrow and I can walk normal. I rarely ever hit the shoes together. I will be attempting to find a way to fasten the straps so they don't slide out of the plastic notch piece that hold them in place or I may even remove the excess straps as they seem to slide out of the place holder when walking. The straps still hold and won't undo to allow your foot to come out but the extra strap flopping around tends to annoy me. I just took them out for my first 1 miles hike about a month ago and a 3 miles hike a few days ago. I can't wait to get to use them more! My boot is the Bugaboot Omni III. Love them as well and go great with the shoes. I wear them in a size 9 for extra sock purposes. I am 5'8 and weigh about 175 lbs and these snow shoes kept me above the snow and were easy to walk in. I have the 25inch.

    Hi Jennifer,
I’ve found that if I turn the clips around so the opening faces the front of the snowshoe, the straps stay in them better. There are also the expedition strap keepers, I use these on my Denali Ascents and they’ve never let the straps come loose without something pulling at them. They can be a little more of a hassle to secure, especially the heel strap.
