    Hubba Hubba NX Tent

The superlight (3lb 7oz trail weight) MSR Hubba Hubba NX 2-Person 3-Season Tent keeps your pack weight low, packs down to next to nothing, breathes deeper than your yogi, and still stands up to years of camping adventures. Light in your pack but tough on the ground, the 30D nylon ripstop bathtub floor rises up to protect your slumbering body from splashes and spits when it starts to rain. Water stays on the outside due to a combination of DWR and 3000mm Xtreme Shield PU coatings. Vents on all four sides let the crosswinds blow to keep the air inside fresh. The nylon ripstop rainfly uses a 1200mm Xtreme Shield PU and silicone coating to keep the water from creeping inside.

Unique to the Hubba Hubba is the rainfly-vestibule interaction. Instead of center zips on the fly, the zipper lies along the side, tucked beneath a rain gutter. When you open the tent fly, a flap of fly fabric falls away, giving you a protected entrance to your tent. The rain gutter prevents precipitation from sneaking inside. At both vestibules, you can roll up the edges on the fly and savor an evening breeze free of mosquitoes. Even if you're taking the entire package for a trip on the Wonderland Trail, the Hubba Hubba only puts a measly three-and-a-half pounds in your pack.

    Light Weight Glamping

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I recently used this tent on a multi-day trip in the High Uintas Wilderness in Utah. MSR tents have been my go-to for backpacking for a minute, and the updates to the Hubba Hubba are a delight.

The symmetrical pole and tent body design make set up quick--the pole being one piece means no sorting out what goes where in the midst of a hail storm during set up (for example...). The vestibule design has heaps of room for gear to make sure everything stays dry.

The Hubba Hubba has a very spacious interior with plenty of head room--very comfy for two people to lounge and set up without getting in one another's way.

My one "con" for the Hubba Hubba NX is the vent design--the rigid bar/velcro system on the rain fly is not my favorite as you cannot adjust it from inside the tent through the mesh. I also found the rain fly to not keep rain out as well expected from the top of the tent (some light and dripping onto the mesh despite all the guy lines being tied out).

Overall, this is a great three season tent for shorter backpacking trips!

    Light Weight Glamping

Hello, I bought a tent msr hubba hubba nx because I know that this is a quality thing, I am a very careful user, but I was very disappointed ...! on the first hike, a part of the arc broke off and an awning stuck together in the windows, pinning high hopes on this tent.

      Great Tent

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

MSR does a great job making simple to use high quality products. I have used a lot of different tents from many brands and MSR always stands out with quality and ease of set-up. The Hubba Hubba NX is no exception and is perfect for backpacking or car camping . The weight is a bit heavier than other lightweight tents so if your looking to go ultralight it may not be for you. The rainfly provides ample protection in rain and wind but still breathes quite well so you dont wake up soggy. This is a simple, no frills tent with high quality materials, that gest the job done.

      Easy Peazy!

This guy rocks! Super easy to set up. The poles connect very easily and cleanly! The stakes are very durable. The dirt that I was on was very hard on top and i had to pound the takes with a rock I found to get those suckers in. They held up very well against said rock, thank god! It also held up very well in the wind. Can’t go wrong with this guy.

        Small & Mighty

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This tent packs down to be quite small and light, but is spacious enough for 2 to sleep comfortably. Easy set-up and break down are a big plus for me. My only complaint is that I wish it had more pockets (which I find extremely helpful with backpacking or car camping).

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great all around tent. Light weight, easy to set up, and tough material. All you need really. Definitely would recommend if you are looking for a great all around 2 person!

        Double wide

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This fit two double wide sleeping bags, so that's good news! It's all you will fit though, width-wise. But, that was plenty for us.

This is a fast and simple set up and really light. It doesn't come with a footprint, but most tents don't. We didn't use one, and just were careful about where we camped.

I just demoed this tent so I can't speak to the durability. But, as a Gearhead, I hear only good things from customers, so I trust it longevity and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
