When your tent's as light as the MSR Freelite 2 2-Person 3-Season Tent, you might be a bit more tempted to pack a micro brew or two to complement your freeze-dried mac 'n' cheese dinner. Weighing just over two pounds, the Freelite is one of the newest additions to the MSR lineup and offers an easy-packing design and impressive trail weight without sacrificing living and storage space. MSR designed the tent with dual doors and vestibules and kept the floor plan roomy, so you'll have plenty of room to stretch out and relax after a long day on the trail, or pass out with a full belly of not-so-good cheesy mac.

The Freelite may not be the burliest tent out there, but its materials strike a good balance between strength and weight, with 15D ripstop nylon composing the fly and floor and a Durashield PU coating offering additional protection from moisture. The micromesh canopy is optimized to provide plenty of ventilation, so you don't wake up in a dewy and dank cave during those colder nights.
