Bad taste in bag
When I bought the bag i was excited because I have used a very similar bag in the past. This bag had a distinct rubbery smell and when I put water in it there was an off taste to the water despite multiple times rinsing. I did not take it on my trip.

Cap leaking - Suport not responding
We realy like the robustness of the Dromedary bag. Although we did not use it very often it was always reliable on our biketrips. But then, when we realy relied on it in the desert like bolivian altiplano, the cap started leaking! We wrote to the warranty support, told them how important the waterbag is for us, but did not get any answer for almost a month! The dromedary bag is supposed to be bomb proof. Bad enough that the cap started leaking, but much worse, if you have to wait so long for support!!! (By the way: The taste of the water is horrible if you keep it in our bag for longer than a few hours! We tried the cleaning with baking soda and lemon a few times, rinsed it at home with fresh water for days, dried it, rinsed it, rinsed it, dried it,... useless. The bad taste stays!) We give two stars because we stilllove the robustness of the bag (not the cap!).

Second try, both leak
The first 4L bag I bought leaked right from the time I purchased it. MSR dutifully replaced it. And that one leaks, too. I've only used it three times, and the leak keeps getting worse. I can't begin to tell you how disappointing this is.Back to a water cube for me....

Bought one already, getting ready to buy another!
I'm glad I made this purchase. I froze the bag full of water as part of my food storage plan for a multi-day river trip. This bag and some blocks of ice helped my family win the ice war, with ice in our cooler for the full seven days of our trip. Additionally, once the bag thawed, I had some great-tasting water!

Convenient but bad tasting
I've had this for about 6+ years and I use it now for washing things because I can't handle the taste even after many washes of hot soapy water. I like that i can hang it and use the trickle flow for washing things. I'm curious what the inside plastic made out of??

Quality of bag makes bag pretty much useless
I've purchased three of these 4L bags over the past few years and they always develop holes. The most recent bag I purchased got a hole within a month. I want to like these things so much because it beats carrying 3-4 water bottles to the crag but the quality is just lacking and they just end up leaking. Seems to be the only style of product like this on the market which is unfortunate.

Trusted water storage system
We own 5 of these dromedary bags (in 10L version) as we do a many kayaking expeditions on islands in the tropics where you need to bring all your water with you. We have tried other water bags and plastic cubes but keep coming back to these MSR bags as the only true and trusted water storage and transportation solution. Rugged, durable, reliable. We got rid of all other water bags we had and now use only these. It is true that initially the water tasted of plastic but it fades over time and I'd rather live with that than worry about a water bag leaking, 2 days into a week-long trip.

Test before leaving home.
The first time I filled the bag it was leaking. I had to order a new one. So far so good. For sure it's a bit bulky, but that makes it more resistent. Note : On the same order, I purchase a filter wich appeared to be defective when I try it during a week long expedition. I also had to return it to the compagny. It's disapointing from MSR. At least the warranty is good.
