Perfect little kit

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I needed a small lightweight cooking kit for car camping with my tepui. This has been perfect, has all the tools I need, it weighs hardly anything so i could take it on a backpacking trip if need be. Everything stores away easily and cleans easily as well. Great little kitchen kit for the backcountry.

This kit has everything I need for my car camping stove, and nothing extra. I love the inclusion of two squeeze bottle. As expected, the gear is quality MSR stuff.

Perfect for the husband

My husband was so thrilled to get this, along with a variety of other camping accessories for Christmas! We have been wanting to replace some of our camping gear for easier packing. This is a perfect addition!

Pretty Great

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I agree the salt & pepper shakers could be better, but overall it's a great addition to my camping setup. it's nice having everything organized and in one spot. It's not bulky - I'm not sure if I'd take it backpacking, but it's a must for my casual camping trips .

Awesome kitchen set from MSR

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

The MSR Alpine Deluxe Kitchen set has everything you need to do some food prep in the back country. MSR knows what they're doing when it comes to products for backpacking and that comes out in the form of measurement lines in the folding spoon, reusable squeeze bottles, and the dish brush/scrape combo tool. The pack is a little on the large side for lightweight backpacking set up, but I don't usually take the full pack anyway. Just grab the tools you need and head out the door!

MSR Alpine Deluxe Kitchen Set

Just like all MSR product this is top notch product... Only down side is the carrying bag is a bit bulky and probably they could have gotten away with a slimmer profile.

A nice addition to my camp cooking setup

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Everything in the kit is O.K. quality, the real selling point and what I like about the product is it all fits conveniently in the carry case and offers an ease of having all your kitchen supplies in one place.

Deluxe

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

The cutting board is great, it does not take up too much space but comes in handy. The knife is super sharp which was not expected but definitely needed. The one con is that there is not much space to add extra items you want to take, so you just have to decide what you need to leave home and what you want to take with you. It is small, lightweight, and convenient. I like having everything I need in one small package.

Perfect Car Camping Kit

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I leave this in the back of my Tacoma year round. It makes camp food prep a lot easier, and cleaner. You do have to be careful while folding back up the utensils, not that I have broken any, but I am always nervous to break it while folding back up. The knife is sharp, cutting board it perfect size for a camping setup, and the lady loves the wine bottle opener! I would recommend for sure. Feel free to reach out directly with any questions on camping gear, or anything at all. I'm always happy to help!

Camp cooking made easy

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This has come in very handy for my girlfriend and I to use while camping. When we go car camping especially, we like to have real meals that require a bit of prep and cooking and this has almost every little utensil needed for the job. Then, when you're done eating your delicious concoction, the little scraper/scrubber makes cleaning everything easy!

Very good kit

Nice case, utensils, cutting board is not bent like some other reviews state. Case prevents it from happening. Salt and pepper shaker need improvement. Would not hesitate in recommending to fellow backpackers.

Nice

Thanks for adding your review, Salvador. Cheers!

mostly good

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I recently purchased this kit to pass on as a gift, having thought about it for some time. My initial thoughts are positive. I keep the folding spatula and 2 folding spoons in my Jetboil Frypan as I prefer those to the Jetboil ones. I have 2 spoons as I drilled drain-holes on one which leads me to the few suggestions. First, the salt/pepper shaker is almost useless. It is too bulky for it's capacity and can hold enough for maybe one meal. Make a larger and flatter container for these spices. Second, add a second spoon with drain-holes. Third, add a stirring spatula or flat spoon(?) .

Love this set!

It's a great cooking set! It has everything you need, ideal for car camping. The two bottles are awesome for packing oil and some biodegradable soap! Definitely glad I got this set!

Highest quality cooking kit out there

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

After 6 days in the backcountry, I can say confidently that relying on freeze dried meals sucks. This kit is my start to finding some better ways to feed myself from backpacking to car camping. I agree with pat that the case it comes in is not backpack worthy, but you typically wont bring everything that is included on a backpack trip, only what is necessary. For car camping, the case is ideal. Eat well!

everything you need

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This set is great for making any meal you want in the back country. It has everything you need. It is a little bulky and it would be nice if it was in a soft case so it could collapse some or expand depending on your needs for that trip. I take things out I am not going to need for a trip then I might keep other things I am taking with me in the case such as my eating utensils. its great but not for ultralighters

The other day while I was at REI I had a thought which turned out to be a great idea. I went over to the travel section and found a small toiletries bag and moved the contents of this kit to that bag and it now fits a lot better into my pack and even has room to collapse a bit.

Comprehensive but bulky

Received this as a gift. The entire set would be great for car camping, but I've paired it down to the "essentials" to include in my backpacking mess kit for the wife and I. The case it comes in is strong, but quite bulky.
