- Q & A
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought: Medium
So, I bought this top because I have finally grown out of 1) thinking I need to always look super 'pro' and never like a 'fred' ; hence, 2) allowing myself to wear shorts, not bibs, which permits wearing a tank top (sue me, I like sun).
So far, as it's still winterish, I have only worn this UNDER other clothes. A few comments 1) if you have a large chest (as in the circumference of your rib cage) then you might want to size up a bit. I bought an M, which is normal for me, but my breasts are pretty squashed (very effective for making cleavage, and I don't mind being squashed that much, but it's a bit extreme). I have a B cup, and with 33 inches BELOW my breasts, the M is really tight THERE, and like I said, also squashes my breasts (only a B cup, so I'm barely 36), so while according to their sizing info it should fit fine, it is pretty tight (after a couple hours I've got a pretty good compression line around below my breasts, there). There is no give in the fabric at that point (more in other places in the top). It comes with those stupid things people wear inside bras that make your tits look bigger and hide your nipples. Freaking ridiculous, they'd be soaked with sweat if you really exercised with them in. Also, another point-- there is a lot of fabric around the mid-section (why it doesn't have much give) and so the top is pretty warm-- if you didn't have exposed shoulders and arms, it wouldn't work for summer riding with that relatively thick fabric in double layers. I still think it will be pretty sweaty, compared to my expectations looking at it online. Good things, though-- it looks great (well, except in my case making the extreme cleavage), the construction seems really high quality, the pockets are awesome and generously sized, the coverage is long enough in back that you shouldn't gap unless your shorts are too low anyway, and the tight fit does mean you could use it in mountain biking on really bumpy terrain or running and it would hold everything tightly in place.
