A shelter to call your own.

Traveling alone on a kayak trip has its perks, and one of them is being able to stretch out and enjoy the Mountainsmith 1-Person 3-Season Lichen Peak Tent all to yourself. The large angled door gives you front-row view as first stars begin to peek through the atmosphere. After counting several shooting meteorites (and slapping a few mosquitos), you can close up shop and turn to the Lichen Peak's internal gear storage for your headlamp and map.

In the middle of the night, you awaken to some unexpected precipitation pattering on the Lichen Peak's waterproof rainfly. But the raindrops are soothing, not stressful, because the Lichen Peak's bomber cap-style rainfly hasn't let you down before. And with those comforting thoughts, the pat-pattering serenades you off to a slumber filled with the smashed holes, hero braces, and tight-gorged lines you only hope tomorrow brings.

  • A one-person tent ideal for river trips and car camping
  • Large angled door entry for chilling and easy access
  • Cap-style rainfly reduces weight and keeps water out
  • No-see-um mesh wall panels offer some privacy
  • Internal gear storage and mesh pockets hold all your stuff
  • Included footprint protects floor from rain and dirt

Great Customer Service

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Just ordered for the upcoming summer. Great customer service from Marie at Backcountry. I had a lot of questions and she is solid with recommendations and handles all of my orders very quickly. Totally worth having a gear person to add that personal touch. Will be updating with pics next weekend. 😁

Solid

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Not super light but still packs away nicely. I'm 5'5," so there's plenty of space for my pack below my feet. I imagine someone taller would enjoy this tent too. Gets the job done nicely

Nice little tent

This is a great simple tent. Easy to set up and had plenty of room for my 6 foot three hunter man

A great little tent

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Easy to put up and tear down, enough space inside for gear and to be able to change your clothes or sit up and stretch.

A lot of tent for the money.

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

First off, this is not a free standing tent and certainly not the lightest but for the money it seems to be well made and roomy. You also get the footprint which is a big plus for me. I'm 6' tall and 265 lbs and have enough head room to sit up. There is some extra space in the front for a small backpack about 20 lt. Also on the sides for a small dog or extra stuff. I have not slept in it overnight yet but from other videos on YouTube I've seen it should hold up to the elements. It is easy to put up and take down and the quality seems to be very good. I'm very pleased with the service and the products I've bought so far. No negatives here to speak of.

I'm comparing this tent to the Eureka Spitfire 1 tent. They look identical, yet the weight and floor space of this one are about 2x the Eureka. Are these both 1-person tents? What gives?
