Great for the shorter armed fellow.

I ordered a LG and XL to compensate for the predicted shrinking in the wash being that these bad boys are a thick all-cotton fabric. I'm by no means a massive guy however with fairly wide shoulders and decently long arms, (aka gorilla arms) I was taking a gamble with buying a flannel shirt new. I tried the XL on and right out of the package I quickly found that the sleeves were a tad too short. And without a shadow of a doubt would continue to shrink as I washed and dried the shirt. I wanted a heavy-duty work shirt for fencing and farm work that wasn't the traditional Carhart. Again, was very impressed with the solid seeming construction and well thought out design but needed to return. For reference, my sleeves on my dress shirts are 26in. If the sleeves were longer on the LG, or I knew how to add gussets in the shoulders, they might have worked. Oh well...

Solid shirt, but not for me.

I love the Mountain Khaki brand, and this shirt was a little bigger than I would like, but I wouldn't let that push you away. The shirt would be awesome if you were layering a little heavier shirt underneath for outdoor work or play. The medium was pretty large on me, and I am normally a Medium or Large in most shirts. So just keep that in mind for the sizing.
