Nice shorts

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 32
  • Height: 5'9"
  • Weight: 170lbs

I was a bit worried about these shorts after I bought them based on the reviews below. However mine turned out just fine. The zippered pockets were important for me on a recent trip where I would be zip-lining and needed a place to put my keys and wallet without having to fear that they would fall out while 500 feet up. The shorts have a very light feel to them and pack well. And mine fit true to size

Huge Sizing Error

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small

I agree with the previous review, as I had the same experience. I wear a size 33/34 in most everything, and I wear a 34 (with a bit of extra room) in a pair of Mountain Khaki pants I recently ordered. I could not even button these shorts in a size 34 (I did not force it due to the material being so flimsy). They are clearly not labelled correctly and are probably more like a 30 or 31, as the previous reviewer suggests. Aside from this sizing error, I do like the pocket features of the shorts. There seems to be plenty of places to stow whatever you need (without cargo pockets or other types of side leg pockets, thankfully). The Velcro on the rear pockets seems unnecessary, and if I was keeping the shorts I'd likely remove the Velcro. Overall, the material of the shorts is very thin and lightweight. I question its durability and feel like it would rip/snag easily. I will look elsewhere for my summer 2014 shorts rather than participate in a guessing game trying to find the correct size in these shorts. I can't speak to the overall fit of the shorts, because I don't have the correct size.

I ordered a 34", the tag says 34"...

but these are like 30". They're so tight my small beer belly was hanging out. I could barely zipper them closed. I've been wearing 34" shorts for 15 years now and never in my life had I tried on pair of shorts that said 34" but were actually 30". This is 2014, there are plenty of Chinese suppliers (the label said this was the country of manufacture) that can sew 34" pants correctly. They probably went with the cheaper manufacturer yet they price gouged me by charging $70 for shorts that are 4" off from the stated size. Lord know what else will fail with these shorts if they can't even get the sizing correctly. What a complete waste of time and money I spent trying to order these shorts. This is the first time I've ever ordered Mountain Khakis, and I ordered one pair of pants and one pair of shorts. Both were awful with sizing, it's like they're not even measuring the material before they sew it. I can understand one product passes through QC, but two different Mountain Khaki products? come on
