Soupy cheese
This would be more appropriately called "cheese soup with macaroni". I would have preferred a little less soup and a lot more macaroni.

Very tasty but a little crunchy
I ate the Mac & cheese just out of curiosity. I followed the directions & let it sit for the amount of time the pouch said, stirred it & let it sit more. I tried a bite and it was still a little crunchy, so I let it sit for about 5 more minutes than the instructions said. It was still crunchy, but edible. Overall the taste is great. I bought several pouches for my husband to keep in his get home bag in his semi. I think they’ll be fine if he ever needs them.

Good Flavor, more time needed for rehydration
My wife and I tried this and while we thought the flavor was fine we both thought the noodles needed much more time to rehydrate. I waited the initial 5 minutes, stirred waited another 4 minutes per the instructions and found them to be tough. In the end, I waited 20 minutes and while better still could have used more time. Yes, the water was boiling but I admit not a rapid boil. Next time, I get a rapid boil going and see if that makes a difference.

I am yet to have a bad meal.
The lasagna is the best. Macaroni, very good. I have also bought and enjoyed the blueberry crisp. Delicious for breakfast.

Mac and Cheese - pleasantly surprised
Excellent flavor. Texture was better than expected. I had never tried dehydrated meals before. Bought more and will use in the future.

Overall tastes good, easy to make
Like most Mtn House products, easy to make in the puch (I admittingly will use a tiny bit less water to keep it from being too soupy in some products). The Mac and Cheese tastes good as a stand alone, but I often add some black pepper+bacon bits or cajun seasoning that works well too.

Crunchy Noodles
I love Mountain House Meals but I tried Macaroni and Cheese for the second time (following the precise instructions) and the noodles are crunchy. They don't cook right.

Had plenty of cheese sauce, but....
The macaroni would not fully rehydrate. I followed instructions, and even let it sit longer than required. Half the macaroni was still solid, while the other half were the right consistency. Ended up dumping it out in the woods. On a positive note, a bear came along and enjoyed it.

Easy to make, real Mac and Cheese
Had this for lunch one day on a backcountry hunt. Very good! I competed the meal with some peanut butter crackers and had plenty of energy for the rest of the day. Follow the directions or all of the noodles may not cook. Ask me how I know! Very pleased with all of the MH products I have used.

This is included under the “vegetarian” heading, but there is no mention of the cheese cultures or enzymes being veg as is typical on truly vegetarian cheese items. Is this truly vegetarian?
