The Mountain House Chicken Teriyaki 2.5 Serving Entree satisfies your growling stomach after you've hiked for miles to your backcountry campsite. This 2.5-serving pouch offers convenient carrying, thanks to a slimmed-down shape that's easy to pack away. Simply add two-cups of boiling water, and then stir for a couple of minutes before digging in. This tantalizing entree includes a savory teriyaki sauce, cooked chicken, rice, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, red peppers, green peas, and onions.

    Pretty darn good!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I enjoy this option. Frankly, I have to find ways to mix up the routine of spaghetti and meatsauce (my favorite). This is a good change, and still fills me up great and leaves me satisfied.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've had worse backpacking meals, but I wouldn't say this one is my new favorite. It does the job after working hard, but that's about it!

    Festival Approved

So if you are looking for an cheap way to eat at a music festival get mountain house meals. They are a great way to cut down costs and also keep you satisfied. We are going to Electric forest this year and since we can't fly with a larger cooler, like we normally do, we need to cut down on the refrigerated items. So now all we need to bring is water and a camp stove and voila!

      Must Have

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Tastes wonderful after a long day of hiking. Highly recommended. Cook for longer than the directions recommend. Everything Mountain House makes tastes great and this is no exception.

      Good camp food

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Disclaimer: all my food reviews will be after I've been out in the middle of nowhere for a few days, mostly eating bars, so anything hot is going to be the best meal of my life.
I'd recommend letting it sit with hot water for an extra 5 minutes at least to make sure everything gets cooked.
