Great tasting

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love Mountain House for all of my outdoor activities. These meals are lightweight and easy to carry. They heat up quickly and are a great source of energy to keep you going all day long.

Good?

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I was honestly shocked when someone broke these out on a trip and they actually turned out to be good. Dumplings are one of my favorite foods, so the option to have some solid tasting ones on the go is super rad. Serves two, but you know I'm downing this whole thing.

Not a huge fan

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

After following the instructions I thought this meal was pretty dry and bland.
Maybe bring some seasoning with to add in there? Overall probably will choose other meals in the future.

Boil, Pour, Wait and Eat

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

If you are looking for an easy meal over a weekend trip I love the mountain house meals. 5 easy to follow instructions and you have a hot meal ready to eat. All you need is a jetboil or stove and water. No need to bring along a cooler or worry if you have enough ice. They also do taste pretty good!

Ridiculously tasty!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This meal hit the spot while backpacking. Lightweight to carry in and plenty of food to fill you up once you've set up camp. Didn't need to add anything, just scarfed it down as it was!
