I know this is a jacket from the 2018 season, so it is on closeout. I like things on closeout. I also like that Outdoor Gearlab had done a review on it and it was favorable. It is a jacket that I will use in place of my MHW Kepler jacket. The Touren doesn't have as many features as the Kepler and isn't as water resistant as the Kepler either, what the Touren does have over the Kepler.. It has a far more athletic cut and will be able to fit into any outer layer much easier. I purchased a Quasar Lite shell jacket a few seasons ago and the Touren will fit under that shell jacket much easier. Yes, the sleeves are a little long, but they are more apparent because there are no velcro wrist straps to snug up. I like the double zipper and the higher side pockets that fit well with a harness and pack on. The jacket has been built with very few bells and whistles, it has very small cinches for both the hood and waist. They allow you to get a better fit on any helmet and through the waist, the thing that struck me the most was how thin the cut is on the jacket. Fat guys, or anyone with a big gut should pass on the jacket, also if you are very muscular in the arms or chest, it very well might not fit you at all. The arms are snug on me and don't have much room through the chest. I am hoping during the spring when I shed some of my winter fat that the jacket will fit the way I want it to for climbing season. Would I recommend the jacket? Yes, but you have to have slimmer body style for it to fit. I bought a Large and I am only 5'7", the thing fits me on the small side.

I bought this jacket at a substantial discount partly on the strength of the other reviews. Don't waste your money by paying even a discounted price for this garment. It's not insulated; not especially windproof; and nowhere close to waterproof. Basically just a nylon shell. You will be wet inside 5 minutes in a gentle rain; the water soaks right through. Definitely not a jacket I would ever carry on any kind of trip. Also, the arms are strangely long compared to other garments of the same size.

Definitely my favorite coat. I purchased at the same time as the Superforma. I like this jacket a little better becuase its soft shell, even though the Superforma feels like a hybrid, the breath-ability is something you can't believe without using, no pit zips, slim fit around the arms, strong zippers, and versatile hood. I just want to comment about the front zipper one more time, smoothest zipper I've ever felt on a coat. Size is good, I like that it fits tight on my shoulders and waist and I don't have to worry about it sliding up my wrist. I like the cut of this coat better than the Superforma. I got the coat on Steepandcheap for just that cheap. Don't have anything to complain about so far, and am not able to come up with any upgrade suggestions. This jacket is perfect. Some other reviews stated its waterproof, while I haven't had it out in a downpour, I can say that this wouldn't be a rain coat for me. It does not have waterproof zippers, and even though not tested by me, I don't think the material would shed water for a day of rain. Superforma would be better if your looking for a precipitation stopper. Same thing I said about the Suprforma, if its on sale, you'd be a fool for not purchasing.

So nice I wore it more than twice

I was lucky enough to get ahold of this jacket right before a rainstorm. There I was, debating whether or not to leave home for some cereal. I decided to get the jacket and go. For the entirety of the trip, all the water would bead right off the jacket. Got home as dry as when I left. The fabric is extremely stretchable, breathable, and soft. I'm on the slender side and I notice it was more of an athletic fit. What I've taken away from this jacket is the fact that I have to buy the other two jackets.

I've been using this jacket for climbing and canyoneering in the winter. It does a great job of shedding light precipitation and blocking the wind. It's lightweight breathable and allows for ample movement. I love the bottom zipper system so that I can open up the bottom of the jacket while belaying or adjusting harness. I'm 6'0 145lb and the M fit me perfect, the jacket runs true to size!

Hi, Is this fabric waterproof? and the comments refer to "warmth?" This confuses me as it's just an outer shell.. is it warmer than an eVent jacket?
