Jacket great, bibs horrible

I had bought the viv jacket and thought I had found the perfect splitboarding jacket. Loved the fit and the features so I decided to pick up a pair of the bibs to match. The bibs are the exact opposite everything about them is wrong. The gaiter is too high up the pant so it barely reaches my boot. The suspenders straps are way too long and I have to tighten them so much the buckle ends up on my back which makes wearing a pack super uncomfortable. Then these are ridiculously baggy. These pants are meant to for ski mountaineering so im not sure why they are so wide at the bottom. The pant is three times wider than it needs to be. I would say the only thing they got right was the pocket placement on the thighs.

Love them, love them, love them

These hands down are the most amazing snow bibs. What the reviewer below says, I echo. The range of motion, check; the pockets with the elastic bands, check; and the durability... top notch!!! The full behind zipper works great for taking a nature break while in nature. No zippers for inner thigh ventilation but the full behind zipper starts at the outside of each knee so you can unzip them for ventilation. For the fit; I'm 5'10" and weight 190 and am built stocky. I usually look for "short" inseam options as I wear a 30 pant inseam. The Large/Reg size option fits me so well. I like how they do not increase the inseam length based on the general size. That is super convenient for folks with shorter legs like me. I usually wear a 33 or 34 pant size for the waist and the large give me just a bit more room for layering underneath the bib. I cannot recommend these bibs enough. Absolutely amazing.

best bib out there

Got these as a gift but they are literally the best bibs ive ever owned! Light, durable, great range of motion. Pockets are plentiful and easily accessed with a pack on. Fit is very "freeride" but not baggy. Love that you can tighten the cuff volume with a bungee, game changer for those with smaller touring boots. Beacon loops in nearly all the pockets so you can choose where it works best for you. Lots of well thought out details. 6ft 180 and I have a large, fits well.

Quite disappointed.

Purchased these bibs as they are advertised as "top-tier durability and expert level functionality"... I've had the bibs for 3 months and have used them skiing roughly 10 times on resort groomers in WA. Now the suspender is pulling the fabric out of the clip as you can see in the picture... these are my only pants I use for skiing and as I'm confident it will be covered by warranty, by the time I get them back, ski season will be long gone.

Wow! Very impressed

I bought these bibs and went with the brown color. Very nice bright looking color. Love every thing about them. I spent a lot of time looking for bibs that had the features I wanted and this fit the Bill. I had to have four pockets on the legs. I need the top ones for chapstick and other small things, and I need the thigh pockets for snacks as I am often skiing with my 4yr old son. The top chest pockets fit my rather large phone easily and the pockets all have key holds and elastic straps to keep things from moving around. The front fly was a huge concern for me as well, as I do not want to take bibs off while skiing. The front fly is plenty big enough and non restrictive. I also don’t like pants that have snaps at the boots and these don’t have that. They fall really nice over ski boots. The waist has an integrated strap which is a cool feature and so I am able to keep them snug up to my stomach easily. I am 5’9 and 160 and the medium regular fits me perfect right out of the bag. Again, the brown is an excellent color. There are no drawbacks to these bibs, they are excellent and should hold up for the next 7-8 years. Everything is excellent quality and design.

great, as long as you don't use a pack

I really wanted to like this, but ultimately decided to return it. The #1 flaw is that the waist adjustment belt buckle sits right where your pack waist strap would wrap around your waist, digging it into your body for the entire day/trip. tolerable for a light pack, but any overnight touring with a moderate to heavy load it would be beyond uncomfortable. yes you could just cut off the buckle but then its just a bit too baggy of a fit. i would have preferred either elastic or a slimmer cut. #2 flaw that may not be an issue for others is where the suspender strap buckles end up after adjusting for height. for me they ended up right about where my pack straps would be coming up and over my back, again digging the buckles into my back. zoom in on the picture of the backside on the product page for reference #3 flaw is that the pant leg bottoms are just too wide for my 26.5 alpine boot. it's fine for resort skiing, but for backcountry where the legs constantly move past one another, its just too much material. the exposure/2 bib bottoms are definitely narrower as one review noted, i would prefer that width or maybe something in between the exposure/2 and The Viv. for something whose product description describes it as an all arounder and for ski mountaineering, these 3 flaws are a deal breaker. which is too bad because other than the above mentioned things, the bib is seriously well made and top notch quality. i was even willing to look past the potato chip bag sound

Really Impressive

I'm a bib guy. I'm tall and generally lean, it can be hard to find the right fit. I had been keeping my eye out for some gore-tex pro as I put myself into pretty rough conditions sometimes and I thought it would be a good thing to own. I expected to only use them in tougher conditions, but these have been my everyday bibs for about 8 days already this year for both resort and backcountry skiing. The fit is tailored and impressive. I'm 6'4" 220 and the XL tall is perfect for me. It just looks good. The little details are perfect. Every zipper is easy to pull and works with one hand - never have had that before. The big chest zipper makes getting in and out the easiest of any bib I've owned. It's borderline silly how complicated others make this. There's no bunching up of extra material across the chest, just more of a great fit like I've already said. All the pockets are well placed and useful. The drop seat/leg zips seem effective but it's been not that warm fo me. Can't tell yet if the leg zips allow enough flow compared to ones that drop lower down the leg. It's pure shell so if you need warmth wear your layers. It cuts wind just like you'd expect gore-tex pro to do, and has a strong feel to it despite being really light overall. Cons - Like someone else said it sounds like a bad of potato chips. I haven't found anything gore-tex pro that wasn't that way, so I didn't expect different. On the hill I dont ever notice. Also these have very little stretch. Walking around the house I could feel the material pulling on my knee with every step, and I thought I would struggle with touring in them. So far they've been fine that way, Once wearing my boots there was just enough material bunched at the bottom to give some slack and I didn't notice them much, and the bunching wasn't an issue. I was worried about spending so much on a resort only bib so I'm glad it wasn't an issue for me. Curious to what others think of that aspect. So they're pretty much perfect and I can wear them in any skiing situation I think. If you can swing it, they're worth it in my opinion. Side note - the dark storm color is actually a green color. It's very muted in these, and mostly just looks like black or dark gray depending in the light you're in. I've got a fleece in the same color and that piece shows the green much more. Don't let it deter you, you'd have to stare at them for five minutes in exactly the right light to notice any green at all. It's a subtle sea green that's actually a great color.

Comfy!!

Love how these bibs fit. Pockets well thought out. I put beacon in upper thigh pocket and didn't even notice it's on the climb. Got the Jacket too. Its nice they are designed to go together. The fabric feels soft and has some give. Very comfortable.
