Good jacket overall (hood is warm, pockets are not)
The jackets fits well around the chest and all other areas except arm length (there's no XS so I had to settle for S size). Pockets are not warm so remember to carry gloves. Hood is warm though, so you can do without a hat unless it's really cold. Overall it's a good jacket.

Fits Great! BUT!
Bought this for days in the teens and single digits, but didn't get the job done. While the gortex kept the wind out, I could feel the cold seep through the insulation. This jacket is great for days in the 30s-40s but wont get the job done for single digits, teens, and wind chill. Great looking jacket, but not for really cold days.

Love the jacket, but... the color? Not the "icelandic" in the picture..!
I bought this the past week and it's an AWESOME jacket. Warm as toast, great design, etc etc. BUT... only 1 problem: the color. I got a very green color jacket with black zippers. Nothing like the picture. Green wasn't any of the color choices for the jacket on the webpage, either, so what happened to the icelandic color? At first I thought this was just a light reflection issue or something, but those zippers are really light blue in the picture and they're definitely black in real life! Will be calling in to see what the story is. Maybe it's a different version or something..

Bad zipper design
Needs to have a 2 way zipper- I bent down to tie my shoes with it zipped up and ripped the bottom of the zipper very easily. I only owned the jacket for a week at that time... It’s a great jacket otherwise.

light and powerful
I love it, the gore tex tech is always guarantee when it comes to dryness, had my doubts about the padding, but worry not, it's the type of jacket you can use use with just a t-shirt and be warm even below 30, I'll update this if it doesn't lasts, but so far I luv it

Great jacket, but not for me
First off, this jacket is very well made. Mountain Hardwear is always made with top notch quality that you can count on. The goretex exterior of this jacket felt sturdy and robust and I felt as though it would hold up quite well to normal winter activities that didn't include mountains. The down lining is very nice and I'm sure it would keep you nice and toasty in most situations. The hood was a great size and was also down insulated which I loved! The pockets are perfectly positioned and were also insulated! Anyways, the jacket is well thought out and designed except for some sizing issues which I'll discuss later. The gushing fanboy sentiment aside, this jacket had some limitations that were deal-breakers for me. For reference: 6'0" tall 185 Lbs. 17" Neck 40" chest 33" waist 36" at the hips. 33" sleeves So basically I'm an average sized dude pretty fit, but could afford to lay off the pizza every now and again. The jacket is very svelte and looks great but I think because of that it loses some of it's mobility and flexibility. The medium was too tight around the shoulders/chest and buttocks. When I did the "self hug test" the medium got so tight in the arm pits and bending over to touch my toes the sleeves were rode up a bit higher than I'd like. My main point is that the jacket is tight and as such is quite limiting in mobility. I felt pretty constricted which is why I ended up returning it. The large was great in the sleeve length (if not a little too long for my size) and the rest of the jacket was entirely too big for me. If I could've combined the width of the large on the body of the medium this would've been a winner winner chicken dinner! To improve the jacket I think that having a wider armpit area would make this jacket so much more comfortable, especially if you have any sort of chest/back muscles and would like to move around freely in this jacket. Anyways, those are my two cents, hopefully it'll help you make your own decisions!
